    Default Jermain Taylor: underestimated.

THough his wild style won't allow him to dominate the very p4p'ers he is still very much one of the best fighters in the sport... He totally dominated Ouma, and though he doesn't have the greatest knock out power he hits as hard as hell, and he is a very fast for a middleweight... He is a great athelete who though he doesn't have boxing skills to dominate until he is 40 he still will be one of the best fighters for a very long time.

tya mate. I actaully am a big fan of Taylor. He gets so much stick because of the decisions against Hopkins and Wright, when in reality he gave two GREAT fighters a very very tough fight and he deserves respect on that alone. Added to the fact he took them on back to back without a break. He isn't even resting on his laurels now, i mean Ouma is no easy fighter regardless of the size difference he is a very good boxer. I actaully think he will be unbeaten for a while.

    cc..................

i figured this would be the outcome of the taylor/ouma fight.
ouma is exceptional from 147 to 160, and he has the type of style that would give jermain a lot of trouble.
j.t. is my #2 fighter, and having said that............................. joe calzaghe (#4 fighter) puts the first loss on jermains record if the fight comes off.
similar punch output (most of the time) except joe is a LOT bigger and hits tons harder, and joe c. is a much better fighter in every catagory (even when taking away the size advantage) than ouma.

I don't think Calzaghe is as fast or has proven to me that he hits any harder than Taylor... I think Taylor would do a number on Lacy if they had fought, and I think that Taylor's speed would give Calzaghe fits.

He does seem up for a clash with Calzaghe and I too see that giving him his first loss. As long as Joe doesnt damage his hand in that one which is always a worry and Taylors not the sort of fighter Calzaghe could control one handed for a few rounds if he needed too.

It is very simple. Taylor is a smart guy fighting guys who cant hit hard back. The only reason he stays in MW is because he knew that he would not stand much of a chance against Kessler nor Calzaghe.

No--he was saying "same punch output and hits harder" than Ouma, not Taylor. Taylor clearly hits harder than Calzaghe. But so does Jeff Lacy (not that Taylor is a Jeff Lacy-type fighter). I think it would be a good fight. Calzaghe's definitely not better than Hopkins or Wright, so I'm not sure why everyone's so sold on this being the one that does Taylor in. He's not bigger than Taylor.

I don't think that when people cay cal would beat taylor they mean to imply that cal is better than bhop or winky, I think they're just saying that calzaghe has the style to beat taylor, which I could see happening. Heck I'm not going to count taylor out of anything because he did give 2 exceptionally good boxers very hard fights although In my opinion he should have one loss to b hop and the draw to winky should be a loss also, but very close

Dude taylor recons he punched him self out after 3 round with Ouma - the only fit Calzaghe will have is a laughing one if taylor does something like that again. I have always spoken very highly of taylor, and i think he could be very talented if he tried hard enough, but right now calzaghe will destroy him in that ring.
