    Default Dream Super-Middleweight Matchup

O.K. given, this seems a bit premature, but I would pay to go to Wales to see this fight:

    Joe Calzaghe vs. Edison Miranda

Even though Miranda is still fighting at Middleweight, there is no question in my mind that he will eventually move up to the super-mid division.
Although he has some things to take care of in his current division, I would love to see this fight. A crafty veteran like Joe in with a raw, yet to
be polished boxer at this point would be a disservice to a great potential match-up. But with a bit more experience under his belt and a better
trainer to craft his skills, I'm sure that Miranda would make a great showing for himself in the ring.
As I said before, this is a bit premature, but it's pretty much a matter of time before Miranda moves up to super-mid. I just think he wants a
title at Middleweight at this point.
If Miranda lives up to all of the 'hype' and potential that I see, this could be a career defining for a crafty old veteran like Calzaghe. The Lacy
fight was career defining in that sense because Joe just exposed a one punch wonder who was totally outclassed in the ring.

    Any thoughts?

    I go with Calzaghe. UD
I have no arguements to back up my prediction. Just a hunch.

Although I am extremely High on Miranda Probably the biggest Bandwagon jump I have everdone I still think he is to Raw and inexperienced, He gets hit with alot of shots cause he tends to start opening up while throwing caution to the wind.. Like in Lacys case has all the talent but needs to use a little better technique and tighten up the defense...

if the fight was to happen in the next year I would say Joe by UD.. Edison needs more time to mature..

The only things that I don't like with Miranda is the fact that he exposes himself to punches too easily; not a very tight defensive-fighter. With that said, I think a good
trainer could potentially correct many of those flaws. Perhaps that's wishful thinking on my part, but Miranda is still young. He may not be the entire package, and he may never be, but if he corrects a few deficiencies, he's going to become a great champ.
As I said before, Calzaghe is way too premature at this point, but in time, with a bit more experience fighting top-ranked mids, all of his raw intensity should become polished under the proper tutelage.

I don't see Miranda movin up to 168 too soon, he's young and can still make 160 which has always been a more premier weight class than 168. But the fight I'd love to see would be Miranda vs Jeff Lacy!!!! That'd be fukin fireworks. Who would you take to win?

Agreed...Miranda'd be stupid to move up to 168lbs. He could lose some of his pop with the weight gain & also...the 160lb division will be easy pickins if he can work on his jab & defensive abilities.

    Miranda vs Lacy?

Tough call...but I think that Lacy edges him on boxing skills just slightly.

Lacy seemed a bit unsure of himself against Tsypko...so I'd honestly have to pick Miranda if he can handle the weight. Lacy just seems to be damaged goods.

With Miranda's frame, going up a mere 8lbs. would be nothing for him. At this point in time, I think Lacy has a lot of thinking to do about his future. Yes, he suffered a bad injury in his last fight, but he still seems to be way too tentative and I think the Calzaghe fight took away from his confidence a bit. But I'm not throwing in the towel on Lacy yet. He's still young, and with a bit of polishing, could become a good champ.
I agree that Miranda won't be moving up to Super-Mid anytime soon, unless of course, there is a definitive title offer for him. He has a lot of unfinished business to take care of at Middleweight first.
To answer your question about Miranda v. Lacy:

I would have to go with Miranda at this point because his stock and confidence has skyrocketed. I think it would be fireworks as long as it lasted.

    Dead on the money.

Miranda's confidence & power will be a huge factor at 160lbs & 168lbs if he chooses to make the jump...come to think about it...now that you mention it...8lbs aint shit for someone with Miranda's frame.

Interestingly enough...I'd be curious to see how he faired against Tsypko.

That'd get the Lacy arguement rolling & it might shed some light on the current state of Lacy. I aint one to jump ship until the bow is almost underwater...but in Lacy's recent outting...I lost a lot of faith.

Sorry, bro. Can't repeat a karma action for 24. Been a bit out of touch as of late. I hope those business woes with that partner you had were resolved.

Yep. It's all good in Wacko's neighborhood now...the only thing is...if I thought that I had no life prior to owning me on joint...it's got an exclamation point on it now in a big way.

Winter's here now though...so I take weekend's off now & go snowboarding every Saturday...yep...life is good.
