    Default Boxrec has.... =O

Now i know boxrec sometimes jumps the gun..And im not sure who has seen this or not..

But it has Andre berto vs Ben tackie 17th Feb...

Now this is how i like to see a prospect bieng handled..
No shit tackie is a tough tough guy.. So's berto..But these are the fights he wants to build himself up..
None of this i want * Insert big name here* but i havnt fought anybody..
    Tackie is dangerous..
    What'ya'll think?
    Peace

Tackie is the gate keeper to world class and has been for a few years, with men like Sharmba Mitchell, Kostya Tszyu and Ricky Hatton all stepping up and proving they are title contenders against him. He seemed weight drained against Juan Lazcano so I expect a better prepared Ben Tackie to go up against Andre Berto. Tackie will most likely take Berto into the late rounds which will be uncharted territory, but i still expect the promise to be fulfilled by the exciting and impressive looking Andre Berto.

Agreed... I think tackie takes him the distance..
Which is what prospects need..They need tough fights.. decisions on the record to show theyr not babies..
I dont know if berto can take out ben.. But ben can crack.. Dont know if berto's chin has been checked..
But this is not an extremely worrying fight..But it'll get rough and tough in there..
Build that experiance nicely..And Your totally right dan..
Tackie is a pretty well respected gatekeeper.. Theres a fair few gatekeeper fighters out there in and around the welterweight division,
Hatton tszyu and mitchell took on a fair few of em.. Only mitchell became one..lol
    Peace

Tszyu is too great and proud to be anyone's gatekeeper poor Mitchell never made the kind of money or got the recognition he felt he deserved, so he fights on, he looked sorry against mayweather and williams, he had nothing left.

Tackie should be a good challenge for Berto, but he's no longer a contender.

I honestly like the idea of the match up...but I think that he pulls out a shocker & wins.

For some reason...I never underestimate Tackie.

I never have either. The man can't be out-brawled. Kostya Tszyu and Ricky Hatton had to box him in order to beat him. In all his losses, his opponents had to out box him to win. His weakness his speed. And sadly for Tackie, Berto has good speed. It'll be another points loss for "Wonder".

Agreed...on all points. Nice. Thing is...for some reason...the Hatton loss did a lot more for me than the Kostya one.

Violent's speaking for himself...I thought that Tackie looked better in the loss to Hatton than Kostya. He put up a better fight, IWO.

Hatton said in his book, that Tackie couldnt speak a word of english - but knew every swear word in the book in the ring.

That his head was like a block of teak - and up he's got tribal scars covering his face which you cant really see on tv.
