This is Olympic (Amatuer) catagories.
Note: pro boxer middleweight is 160 and super middle is 168.
Different organisations can have different weights.
If you weigh 75 kg now you should drop down to 69 kg for a fight and "rehydrate"to 75 for the fight.
If you walk around at 75kg. you'll end up in the ring with a guy at 80+kg.
The existence of weight divisions gives rise to the practice of weight cutting. It is generally considered an advantage to be the largest individual in a weight division, therefore some athletes will work hard to lose weight through dieting and dehydration prior to weigh-ins.
Remember you have "about" 24 hours AFTER the weigh in to gain back water weight.
This is becoming a BIG issue in pro boxing now.
As boxers will take huge health risks to "make weight" then come to the actual fight 1 and even 2 weight classes higher.
Maybe a weigh-in at the time of the fight would be a good idea ,but what happens when a guy doesn't make weight 2 minites before a fight starts? Big issue!
