Default Chad Dawson dumps Birmingham for Mayweather!!!

    www.boxingtalk.net

Light heavyweight contender Chad Dawson, who will meet WBC champion Tomasz Adamek in the main event Saturday on Showtime, has hired Floyd Mayweather Sr. as his trainer, replacing two-time Trainer of the Year Dan Birmingham. After giving a politically correct answer about his reasons on a conference call, Dawson said later in a private interview to Kevin Iole that he thought he could get more one-on-one attention from Mayweather Sr. "Dan was all about Winky (Wright), and I felt I needed more time from him than he could give me," Dawson said. "He was all about those guys (Wright and Jeff Lacy). Floyd is a very hands-on trainer. He's there to run with me, he's there in the gym and he's taught me things I never knew. "I'm throwing quicker and faster combinations and, even though he's a master of defense, I'm a better offensive fighter now."

    WOWZERS...didn't see that coming!!!

Why Mayweather Sr.? Dawson doesn't have the style for that but he is a good boxer....I would rather Chad get a better trainer than Floyd Sr.

Roach, Steward, McGirt.....those would all be good choices

I for one think Mayweather Sr. is a good choice, nice move.
Mayweather can tighten up that defense and help out on his hand speed while improving his footwork.....

Roach would also be a good choice for him.

Glad to see Mayweather Sr has someone still supporting him.

I mean being rejected by your son must be F****** terrible pain.

Then to get ditched by the man you were prepared to train to beat your own son must have been even more painful.

At least he's got Chad now

As Freddy Roach said "Who has Floyd Sr. actually trained? Floyd Jr. is better because of ROGER and Oscar was already a finished product when Floyd Sr. took over"

I tend to agree with Roach
