Default Majestic thoughts Volume V: The return of Vitali Klitschko

First of all, I commend the man for coming back and hope he does well for the Heavyweight division.

Second of all, there will now be only one Heavyweight champion

Third of all lets wake up from fantasy bias world

Fourth of all, I am sickened at the apperent attempt to blackball Samuel Peter

Samuel Peter did something that hasn't been done in MANY years, and that is beat James Toney twice(I thought he lost the first fight granted but the second one he showed his vast improvement)

Sam Peter beat someone better then anyone Vitali has ever beaten and he won twice.

James is a step above Danny Williams, a step above a golf playing Corrie Sanders, a step above anyone Vitali has beaten.

So WHY are they trying to place Vitali above Samuel Peter in order to get a shot at this WBC Heavyweight "belt"

To me it seems like they gave Vitali "rest time" while they waited to find a suitable champion and they waited for Rahman to lose to Maskaev and now Vitali is on the comeback after his years rest and they are just getting ready to hand the title back to him

Wladimer is holding the IBF belt and he's fighting Ray Austin(thats such a huge risk!)

And nobody else on the horizon for Briggs to fight after this Sultan fight.

Like I've been saying for a while, the powers that be around boxing politics want both Klitschko's to hold Heavyweight belts at the same time.

They've wanted this for quite some time, with Vitali's fight at the Garden against Corrie Sanders.

And Wladimer's fight against Lamon Brewster for the WBO championship.

They were set up in back to back weekends..

    Wladimer against Brewster one week.

Vitali against Sanders the next week.

The script is, Wladimer beats Brewster and Vitali beats Sanders and HISTORY IS MADE!!!!!!

    It didn't happen that way...

Them making Lamon Brewster an active fighter after a year off from the sport to fight Wladimer for the "vacant" Heavyweight WBO belt was a mistake for that plan, on that night Brewster became a champion and put a wrench in the plans.

Brewster then goes life or death against Meehan and then who do they throw Meehan in with, Hasim Rahman who earned a shot with Vitali Klitschko off of the beatdown he gave Meehan.

As for Brewster, he won overseas and lost to Sergei and was never heard from again.

Which is sad and another disgrace of boxing as Brewster was the kind of Heavyweight you would pay to see, win or lose, and isn't excitement what they want in the division? If thats true then why keep one of their most exciting fighters inactive? I rest my case..

Then Vitali Klitschko "retires" And James Toney and Rahman fight to a draw over the "should be" Vacant title belt

But here's something else. If Maskaev doesn't fight his mandatory next he gives up his WBC belt to be vacant by the rules right?

And Sam Peter fights for that title correct?

Well why is it when Vitali retired he declared his title vacant and James and Rahman fought to a draw Rahman received the belt instead of the championship in recess?

Was it because he fought for that "interim belt" against Barrett in which case where has that belt gone? or was it pulled out for this instance Why can't sam Peter fight for that full Championship and make Vitali fight for the "interim" if he MUST have a belt shot? Why not do this again? Oh because you handed him that interim belt when he retired "just in case" he wanted to comeback again he could get his shot at the WBC Championship at any title holder that has it? This device is called the WBC Emeritus championship belt which is given to Vitali Klitschko for this reason.

Is it me or does something smell a little BS around here?

Is it because this is Vitali Klitschko we're talking about now?

They want them BOTH(The Klitschko Brothers) in history books for those reasons and everything is pointing in this direction at this apparent blatant black balling of Sam Peter who earned his shot at this title.

It's almost as if nobody(except the fans) are noticing this.

So I'll say it right here.

VITALI KLITSCHKO DOES NOT DESERVE A SHOT AT THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT THIS MOMENT!!

He should fight for it like Sam Peter had to. If he doesn't then this is another disgrace to boxing which has already contradicted itself on these standards.

I rest my case dear fans, the rest is up to you.

Vitali thought he would be victorious in politics and he failed so now he wants his wbc belt back. yeah i know it F'd over Peter and Oleg too in a sense, but hell id rather see Vitali punish contendors even if they arent on the same skill level of JT then see these so called belt holders fight each other and bore the HW division even lower.

Nobody is blackballing Peter. He's been giving his chances. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Peter fight Title Eliminators for 3 of the 4 organizations? So how is he being denied a chance to fight for the titles? The problem is he failed to take advantage of them. He lost the Eliminators for the IBF and WBO when he lost to Wladimir Klitschko. Who's fault was that? Than after beating only Robert Hawkins and Julius Long he gets the chance to fight in the WBC eliminator against a much smaller James Toney. And in all reality lost. But was given a gift win (I guess this happens to all fighters being blackballed). Granted he won the rematch. But in reality it wasn't the domination many make it out to be. Peter should be happy in his current position in boxing. Cuz he got help getting there.

majesty, a great well thought out posting.

It really annoys me too to see Peter passed over. To have to refight an eliminator becuase fans weren't happy with the verdict was bad enough but to pass him over again when he has fought and beaten his opponent twice is just plain wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I think Vitali coming back definitely adds interest to the division, he's probably one of the top two or three heavies out there but it shouldn't mean a breaking of the rules and shredding of contracts.

When Greece won the European soccer cup a few years back it was hardly popular, they were minnows and nobody outside of Greece wanted them to win. However it would have been out of the question that the tournament directors could have forced Greece to replay France again because theyt were unhappy about the result!

With any other sport you can see how patently absurd the very idea is. They never reran a Grand Prix in order to allow one of the leaders another chance because he had to retire with engine failure, and they never reran a Grand National because the heavy favourite pulled up lame at the first fence, the very idea that you can A) force a replay of a fight/game/match whatever because you don't like the result is just absolutely absurd, it makes a mockery of the sport.

Then to B) disqualify the victors place in the final even after he's won twice now becuase you still didn't like the result is just plain corruption.

The minority who are defending this bullshat decision answer me this, name ANY other sport in the world where this kind of shat could happen?

Boxing is the most corrupt sport in the whole world.

Other sports have commissioners to decide an outcome. Boxing doesn't. Not only that, but them other sports are played. Nobody ever plays boxing. Boxing shouldn't be compared to other sports. As for the decision? I have no problem with it. Peter will eventually get his shot. He just has to wait. He should look at it as pay back for the gift win in Peter-Toney 1. To say he's being blackballed is as Mike Tyson would say "ludicrous".

    Good post there Violent Disease...
I like to see a different viewpoint than the rabble. shows some ballz and individualistic thinking. CC for that alone.
I disagree to a certain degree on some stuff.
Peter Toney 2 was a dominant win for a much improved Peter.
AND. if a guy pays a fee to fight in a belt eliminator fight and wins tehn its a contactual obligation for the organization to give him the fight.
Unless the peter contact said "winer gets oleg UNLESS vitali comes back first" then he should get the shot.
Its all really a mute point as we all know the belt "clubs" are all skumbags anyway! and I mean SKUMBAGS! this situation justs proves it.

    P.S. even tho' I cc'd ya.....
.....I still think your breath smells like James Toney's d1ck!

The lack of commissioners in boxing is a problem, not something to be considered as acceptable. Granted it will never change, as if one state tried to clean up boxing the promoters and governing bodies would just move it to another state who let them continue as normal. Doesn't make it right though.

Nobody ever plays boxing. Sorry but have to sc you for this, quoting Vin Raimes in Undisputed is kinda lame, I guess it shows where your at in terms of mentality though.

As for the gift win against Toney. After watching the fight three times I can see why they scored it for Peter. It was a close fight, could have gone either way.

The same thing that justified Peter getting the win in the first fight.
