Default Pacman to run for Philippine Congress

A 28 year old fighter at his prime in boxing decides to run for public office in a country which he best will serve as a fighter at this moment in time. As a Filipino I am dissapointed that Manny has been courted and pushed to run for public office by some politicians because of his popularity. Many Filipinos do not agree with this move and has been critisized over and over again by radio stations and tv programs, there seems to be a campaign not to vote for Manny because they love him as a fighter and we wish for him to stay that way for sometime. He has the right to run and probably deserves a position more than others which made the Philippines one of the most corrupt countries in Asia. But not now Manny, you are already serving your people more than others, there will come a time for this, not now.

I agree with the previous post. He should stick to fighting and leave politics alone. Maybe after he retires. He will win hands down regardless.

It seems like all boxers want to dabble in politics these days. Jermain Taylor has said he wants to be Mayor of Little Rock, the Klits tried to be mayor and.......I run out of others but I'm sure there are some.

Manny can easily win because he will be running for a local position in General Santos City the place where he grew up and continue to stay. Most Filipinos who are begging for Manny not to run are from Metro Manila. I'd be really surprised if Manny continue to win in the ring after being elected.

I remember seeing a video of members of parliament from Korea and Taiwan in a free for all inside their respective chambers of parliament. Maybe they should do the reverese. Become boxing professionals after serving as members of parliament heheheh

Manny needs to be real careful. With his superstar status in the Phillipiness, movies, music, and now politics....he very well can start spreading. He already made a mistake by signing with Arum. I have nothing against him going into politics...but all the distraction will eventually catch up to him as a boxer. Doesn't help he as a prick like Arum as his promoter.

Not good for Pac, it's never good for a boxer to take on other tasks like this.
If he pulls it off and can manage both then more power to him.
If he loses both in and out of the ring then what?

Even if he could pull it off, he has a greater chance of losing in the ring, no matter what the outcome is.. It's too much time commitement for an active fighter imo.
