Default sparred a big muscled up guy today!!

today i had to spar a guy who is 9 kg's heavier than me, his short but muscular (tyson style) he keeps bobbing and weaving and slipping, for the first 2 rounds i was moving around trying to avoid his big punches, jabbing and throwing flurries at will, but in the 3rd round i got tired from moving around the ring so much and then got my ass kicked!!!!
he has a hell of a left hook to the body and can throw some fast combos when near, even the punches i blocked hurt my hands, and on the other side i had my trainers yelling and swearing at me!!

overall it wasnt that bad but i'm tryna figure out wat to do next time, maybe pace myself better and use more of my footwork.

I hope you know that Von is just joking?...

Anyway, trick is when you get tired... is to let them get on the inside but lean on them, tie them up and tired them out... don't give them any leverage to get shots off.

Just relax in there and keep them moving and you'll be OK, you probably only burned up because you where tense, even if you didn't feel it.

Sorry, I don't know how to reply to specific posts, however, the post that suggested leaning on the sparring mate to tire him... I don't think that will produce the best results because he claims his partner is 9 kilo larger than he is. If your smaller. that's a lot of weight to tire out. I would suggest tiring out a larger partner with your feet. Fly!

yeah, that's why I said lean on him Oldtown... forget the weights and think of the heights and angles... you can rest on top of him and he won't have the range to do shit.

It's easy to push your weight down on something... it's hard for him to push it up. Obviously you want to be keeping him moving (like I said ) but when you start to tire and slow you don't want to give him any room on the inside, spoil rest and get your distance back.
