Kess is a good man!!! Even after coming of the first loss of his career in the most hyped fight of his career,,, he makes no mistake of wanting to get straight back in there and take another big time fight!! Good on him.. No one lives forever, and certainly no one boxes forever.. so Kess says F'k the tune up fight... I'm ready for the big time!! Very admirable!
This is why he is such a liked guy and fighter!

Calzaghe did hurt him with a body shot Kessler was holding on and did slow down after that.
Wonder who he will fight next![]()
Hmm!
"I know I can beat him next time"
What gives him that impression?
The way Clzaghe p*ssed all over him and the way the ref saved kessler from getting stopped?

Kess seems like a good guy and would love to see him back in the picture, but as someone else mentioned calzaghe did hurt him with that body shot, he said so himself in the post fight interview. He just needs to move on to other fights ,calzaghe doesn't have time on his side so a rematch with kess is unlikely I think.
I've been waiting patiently for something like this...
Good to hear Kess is in good spirits. I think the time off has done him well and it's great to hear he wants to get right back in the big fights.....
More then anything I just want to see him back.
Come OOOOON! Viking Warrior....![]()
Good stuff Gamo, thanks. Kess acting somewhat like Taylor, in that he wanted to get right back to a big fight rather than a tune-up.
A bit of post fight revisionism from Kessler which spoilt the interview a bit for me.
I would be delighted to see him and Pavlik go at it though.
And since Kessler is the only good danish boxer I hope he get the big fights ASAP.
Thx for the link![]()
Hmmn .... a goood fighter and seems like a decent bloke ...... but he says that he had a bad hand, that he was never hurt, that he had Calzaghe, that he was waiting until the later rounds to hit him etc etc.
Smacks of a person unable to come to terms with a defeat. If he can't do this, he is unlikely to learn the lessons that come from a defeat.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
To be adaptable, or (if he can't) to throw caution to the wind ..... once Calzaghe started boxing him, he was always going to win but Kessler stayed with plan A all the way through?

Some of these posts make it sound as though Kessler got destroyed.. He fought a very good fight having never faced anyone of Joe's calibre beforehand. He is clearly the best fighting at SMW assuming Calzaghe will not return to fight there. And even if Joe does drop back down, I think a rematch would be an excellent fight just like the first.. Why on earth should his confidence be shaken, he came on very strong in the 12th and took that round in a big way.. Nothing to be even slightly ashamed of. I also don't get this notion that he must not have dealt with the loss well, since when is being confident after a close defeat a sign of a fighter who is weak mentally? You've got to believe your the best in order to even get close. I'm very much looking forward to his next fight. I don't think there's anyone at 168 now that he wouldn't beat.
