    Default Holyfield's Quest

If Holyfield wins a version of the Heavy-Weight World title, and it is possible that he might, it will be a sad day in boxing. He is a legend but it will say more about the state of boxing than Holyfield as a boxer.
I hope he doesn't. what about you guys?

No way I reallly hope he manages it one last time, ok he's seen better days and the division is so weak right now but still its something I'd love to see. Aside from the British fighters Holyfield is the only heavyweight I can really say Im a fan of and I'd like to see him on top again.

Holyfield is shot and should be banned from boxing.

I think they need to revoke his liscense....Holyfield is obviously showing signs of brain damage and needs to be banished...for his own good....

I'm rooting for him. As long as he keeps away from Wlad and Peter he should be ok.

I agree that he is old and no way should he risk his health fighting professional fighters who are trained to damage people for a living.

So as long as he's fighting the current heavyweights he should be fine! :P

Extensive tests have been done on evander holyfield that show no signs of injury, or medical condition that would disable him from fighting. He has heart, i know its not a common thing in boxing today. Dont let heart scare you, this man is of a dieing breed. He fights because he loves it.

Tests schmests.....look at some old interviews of Evander...he was a very eloquent speaker...was...he can barely form complete coherent and intelligible sentances anymore.....that alone tells you he's suffering brain damage.....the heart may be there but the brain isn't...probably not to hard to have doctor fudge those tests......
It feels good to be back home.

This is not a quest. It's a trainwreck.

Too bad he didn't get a shot at Sergie Liakovich before Briggs got to him. That would have been an easy win and he could retire.
The damage takes a while to show up,like maybe 5-8 years.
He's already so brain damaged he's down to 2 brain cells,
    #1) breathing
#2) bowel movements....sometimes they get confused and his breath smells like sh1t!
He's just biding his time and staying "buzy" hoping for a soft touch somewhere.
I love the guy, jsut hope he doesn't get hurt.

i think for his own good he should hang em up. he is a mumbleing old man now and although he could still have success in the division he will never be able to be the unified champ with all four of the major versions of the world title which correct me if i'm wrong is what he is hoping to do. he has already cemented his legacy and i think he is going to damage it some more if he continues and loses again to an average fighter. but saying that he didnt look too bad in his last outing i saw. but he should call it a day for his own safety if anything.

Doctors said Muhammad Ali did not have brain damage before his fight Holmes.

Guess they got that one a bit wrong.
