Default Now who sez Pac's overrated? Yet another award for Pac?!! Read on.......

The Associated Press reported that the Boxingwriters Association of America has chosen Manny Pacquiao for their "Fighter of the Year" award. The boxing writers themselves say he's the best for the year, and who are we to contradict them.

All right, kids, especially those who say Pac's overrated, don't just take this sitting down. Let's start some riot out here. I mean, a peaceful one. But I have to warn you though, you have to contend with this super guy called BoxingGod!
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

Pac's accomplishments in 2006 are definitely not overrated. He won 3 fights, including two KOs over a legend who is going to be in the HOF the first second he becomes eligible. I don't think anyone else could even be considered for '06 FOY, it was Pac's all the way.

The people who think Pacquiao is the #1 PFP fighter in the world are overrating him, because he's not #1. He's 3rd IMO.

He deserves fighter of the year... Doesn't change the fact that a lot of people over rate him.

His fan boys see him as more than just 'fighter of the year'...

    There's nothing discuss...

basically what he said... getting fighter of the year doesn't make him under rated or just 'rated'... Because some people rate him stupidly high... much higher than fighter of the year.

Just out of curiosity, why shouldn't Pac be P4P number 1. You've said he shouldn't be but have not backed it up with anything.

Well if people used their eyes, they could see that in beating Morales,MAB and drawing with JMM,Pac has 3 names which are far far better than anyone on Floyd's resume except from maybe Castillo. Heck,a faded, washed up Morales from the third fight is still better than most of Floyd's opponents.

Well if you actually think that then fine.... No point in arguing. If not, then you probably agree with me anyways and aren't saying it.

actually has pbf fought as good as oppenents pac has consistently so how can you easily say pbf is better just by using your eyes, pbf has always been prime even his should of lost to castillo, as for pac he just reach prime or showed sign of his prime stage, so actually we've only seen maybe one prime pacman fight. so how can you easily say pbf is better if you haven't seen much of prime pacman?

and if you disagree pacman is just recently coming onto prime, then can you actually say pac was prime in his win over mab and should of s.d win over jmm or close lost to em?

actually not prime pacman has already done more the pbf, defeating better oppenent wise.

Nope,I totally agree Floyd is the better fighter but if P4P is based entirely on skills, then JT shouldn't be anywhere near it! It's not though, other factors should be taken into account and it's not what I believe,it's a fact,MAB,JMM and Morales are 3 legendary fighters,PBF (JLC aside) has fought no one anywhere near that caliber, nowhere near what those 3 have achieved and that's a fact.

Why is JMM a legendary fighter Gamo? Id love to hear your explenation for this. Because he drew with Pac?? Other then that his resume is no better then many of Floyds opponents. And as for Morales, sure he is a legendary fighter, and the only time Pac fought him anywhere CLOSE to his prime(and still past it), Manny lost, and took quite a brutal beating in the process. A great name only carries weight for so long, and Pac beating Morlaes for a third time is a perfect example. From my perspective, he gets about as much credit for that fight as Floyd gets for beating Sharmba Mitchell. And yet ppl make that out to be some great trilogy... Morales wasn't even a shadow of himself in the 2nd or 3rd fights with Pac.

PBF is definitely better than PAC in terms of skill but in terms of the level of competition Floyd should beat Mosley and Cotto first to match Pac's opposition.

so if we base p4p rankings on the quality of opponents before skill Pac is the #1p4p, the question is... where will it put Floyd on the p4p ranking?

Pac is fighting at 130 pounds. If Floyd had stayed at 130 and fought Pacquiao there, Floyd would wipe the canvas with Manny.
That's why Floyd is #1 and Pac ain't.
When someone finds me the fighter who could beat Floyd, I'll stop rating him #1.

I've got respect for Pacquiao and I love watching his fights. But he's just not in Mayweather's league as a boxer.

Shit if it's pure boxing ability that gauges how good a fighter is Audley harrison would be heavyweight champion of the world.
