That was absolutly incredible, apart from Trigg stinking the place out, what a PPV. It seems it's not just boxing who have stepped it up in 07'.

Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
Didn't see it, but read about it on sherdog.com
While I'm not STUNNED that Diaz won, I didn't really think he'd pull it off. I knew it would be a damned good fight, but it sounds like Diaz REALLY put a beating on him. And to win via GOGOPLATA....AMAZING. Unless I'm wrong, it's only the 2nd time it's happened in a sanctioned MMA event :P
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?
Yeah it was a great show, the Diaz fight was intense, he looked like V Klit with his face all busted apart.
It seemed like well over half of the fights was an upset too!
I said this of Diaz a long time ago. He looks like a boxer. He's one of only a select few that axctually knows how to utilize the jab. The jab allowed himt to land his short, clean shots.
Diaz, whilst he does have a decent jab. How the fook did he manage to KTFO Robbie Lawler. Still amazes me. His punches look like they carry 0 weight. He got Gomi with a great submission that gomi more or less fell into but Gomi was gassed from his attempt at a quick finish in round 1. Diaz was never going to win that via punching...it looked like they were all arm punches carrying hardly any power.
Just my opinion mind
for real, this was dissapointing
fucking overeem and silva both got KTFO, and gomi fuckinhg put himself into a submission against a shitty fighter![]()

at least sergei did ok
also at least the fights were good, and fucking nogueria jr should reconsider his olympic boxing plans now

it looked like gomi was so unthreatened by the punches he let the guy land so many it actually started to hurt him a little, but gomi didnt look hurt at any point to the point that he woudl get KTFO
he looked soooo fucking tired tho, and then when he started not wanting to hit the guys eye he let himself get hit enough times to wanna take the guy down... and fucking put his head between the guys legs
he doesn't hit hard, but he hits cleanly.... he just chips away. you only have to land one on the the button as they say. on the other hand, we always see typical mma'ers go for broke.. try to land that one haymaker...no jab, big looping punches that you can see a mile away, etc. it doesn't work that way. Diaz is one of the few who's figured that out.
he ko'd lawler and he DESTROYED Neer like that. short, crisp, clean punches, that's all you need.
Nice vid cheers von. Yep i agree he keeps chipping away and in the end those punches will take their toll. My argument was how the fook did he KTFO Robbie Lawler? His punches look so weak.
Diaz's eye was sooo messed up, reminicent of Vargas
Thats cricket
I think it's just a matter of landing them cleanly, one after the other, with 4oz gloves. He actually sets up a pretty decent left hand by coming in behind 2-3 jabs. Plus, he uses his reach. He's very tall for a 170pounder, so he can keep that jab in the guy's face. When you're shorter and you have ajab in your face it's tough to counter. Nick seems to have figured all this out.Originally Posted by Munky

It was nice to see him go to his BJJ to win a fight. Nick always puts on a good show, and has never been soundly beaten. The UFC lost a great fighter to Pride.

Van,
Welcome home bud! Glad you're safe....
Does anyone know the story aobut Diaz? Why is he not in the UFC anymore? Did Dana White kick him out? And if so, why? He was coming off bac-to-back wins, no?
