Replacement PS2

My kids PS2 stopped reading discs after about two months use, to be fair they have looked after it really well, it just conked out.

Like a cunt I lost the receipt so couldnt go back to Toys r Us to get a new one, I had to phone Sony.

They took my name, serial number of the console and model number then said "I'll get a new one out to you, tomorrow OK?"

I couldnt believe me fucking luck, it arrived this morning. I cant believe how quick and hastle free it was.

Well pleased.

Wonder if Sega will be so helpful about my kids sega mega drive i bought them off ebay 6 weeks ago. Its conked out

I got the PS2 on day of release. Was one of the faulty ones that went out and disc drawer wouldn't open when I got it home.

Had a right ordeal after that. Shop wouldn't replace it as they said cos my name was on a waiting list my contract was effectively with Sony. Sony said my contract was with the shop I got it from. Got consumer watchdog involved who said Sony were responsible.

I got a replacement from Sony four weeks later

with a voucher for a free game up to value of £40. Couldn't replace it sooner as none in stock.

Am waiting a few months before I get PS3 this time

I'm happy for you, Memphis. They probably have a surplus of PS2's and were eager to rid themsleves of one. Besides, now you have such confidence in them that you will rush out and get a PS3 instead of an XBOX 360.

I have yet to see a PS3 for purchase....

I don't know how out of date Playstation 2 is but that should be some indication as to how soon I.....I mean my kids will have a PS3
