I'd like to see the winner against the winner of Marquez/Vasquez II.

That would be an awesome fight although I think win lose or draw, unless they are going to make a trilogy,Vazquez is going to move up.I remember him mentioning it in an interview, his camp did not think the Ponce fight would be that big hence not worth taking when there are bigger fights at higher weights.

It won't matter since Marquez will win anyway. Hahaha.

I totally agree,I was slightly dissappointed by Vazquez, you would have thought after his fights with Larios and Gonzalez that he would be able to get inside of a basic jab and the most minimal of movement far more than he did!!

What are your thoughts on a Rafa Ponce match? I think if Rafa uses the same style he uses v Vazquez,he can win.He has the powet to keep Daniel at bay! However,I REALLLLY want someone to bea Caballaro up!!!

PDL is like JJ. He's always a punch away from winning no matter how bad it gets

...so that power of his is just too much for my boy, heh...

ya, maybe you guys might be right...

ya I quess my boy's bit too old...ya so maybe he's got no chance whatsoever, heh...

    ...But what the heck,

I'm with my boy all the waaaaaaaay...

Jerry by decision or late KO...

I guess I gotta stay with my poor boy all the way, against all odds, for richer or poorer, and what not... Call it a blind patriotism or whatever, I'll stick with my boy.

CC back Pacfan,I totally disagree with anyone who thinks Gerry does not have the style to beat Ponce,he does. I just think at this age,Ponce will be too strong for him.

Ponce has been working on his technique, hopefully we will see the improvements and Penelosa has apprently looked REAL good in sparring so I think this fight will be very exciting. I just favour the rugged Ponce to be too much at this stage for Penelosa.

That's 1thing you can guarantee with Daniel, win lose or draw, you'll KNOW you've been in a fight because of his power aaaaaand his UFC stly etactics!! I really felt for Al Seeger, the kid was wrestled,he was held by the neck and punched, was rabbit punched and just beaten up!!

I'm with you Pacfan, just disagree on the means.

    Penalosa WIDE UD.

Penalosa, has a traditional defense, but keeps his hands a little low IMO, not the quickest on his feet, but always has good form with his footwork. Southpaw
His typical style is one of mad hooks, reasonable power in both hands and a fantastic chin.

Thanx Gamo and killersheep. Actually, I was being patriotic more than anything else. I've never seen de Leon but he seems just awesome by all accounts. All I can say about our boy is that he always had a tough heart, he's never been ko'd and when he was kd'd he came right up and fought till the end. But the most important character he has is that he's never lost that hunger - a hunger to be a champion again, a hunger for another good fight, maybe a last one though. But no doubt it'll be a tough one going for him, with all the odds stacked up against him...But who knows, right?!
