You are somewhat deluded. Maskaev is an extremely weak champion and a decent journeyman who got lucky at best. Peter would dominate him before stopping him....

I would really like Peter to have his crack at Maskaev, It would be brutal....

The truth is noboby knows for sure what happened in that fight,I have tried everthing to find more info on it and the only thing I have heard is that Vitali's corner stopped the fight after the first round due to a hand injury.Kind of like the way Byrd won and Lewis won.He was never knocked out.

None can beat the great Vitali Klitschko huh? I dont know, the guy's been out a long time and from what it sounds like he may get a shot at Maskaev right off. If that is the scenario that plays out I would bet on Maskaev to beat the shit out of Vitali, stopping him or at least beating the shit out of him until his corner stops the fight because of his "shoulder". Right now I think Sam Peter and Nic Valuev both stand a good chance of sending his big ass back into retirement too.

Would be great for Maskaev - what story. From obscurity to historic figure. Perhaps you are right and the rust is heavy on Vitali. I think that it hasnt and that everything Maskaev has, he has more of.
