Not another one of the oldies

I think Witherspoon was hell of a talent in his day and could of been great but coming back at this age is pointless and he will only get embarrassed.

We had a few beers with him afterwards at the Elephant and Castle leisure centre a couple of years ago and he had everyone in stitches and he was downing pints after pint.
    Very approachable funny fella

I always felt Witherspoon could of been great i mean how many people can go even with Larry Holmes back in his hay day ?? as you know Holmes is my favourite hw and i feel Witherspoon deserved draw he reminded me of young Ken Norton except he was quicker and had better chin and Scrap didn't you say he only entered a gym at 23 ?? then he was fighting Holmes at 25 thats what you call talent a lot of people only remember the fat Witherspoon who was having problems and struggled against Frank Bruno but not a lot of people realize how good he was and how good he could of been he even done bit of Ali dancing in Holmes fight he was great talent and would of beat a lot of top hws in his prime.

Tim is a great guy.. hell hes got to be 48 years old or older ? I think its best Tim leave the fighting to Chazz Witherspoon at this stage .. Chazz is the next big thing at HW in my opinion.. good work ethic. very busy fighter, fights well on the inside and outside , . Chazz is sitting on his shots better now ! Chazz should blaze through this fragile young crop of HW !

Hes nearly 50 I think he should Change his name to "Withering" Tim Witherspoon for the comeback. They shouldnt even grant him a license

It's not so bad, I mean if he does the same thing Tommy Hearns is doing. A fight with Tim could get a lot of publicity, and Chazz could be featured on the undercard. I agree with LG, I've never seen a heavyweight with the work rate of Chazz and he's smart, good at keeping himself out of trouble he's going to be good. He'll get a title shot one day imo.

Yeah Tim's a good guy. He use to come to gym and help any out it. He would greet you for the first time like he known you years. He a very friendly guy. I saw his daughter give this chick some work in a sparring session atleast i think it was his daughter. His son is pretty sharp too.

What I do not get about Tim Witherspoon is why he did not train harder when he was in his prime.. Then now at 50 years old he wants to comeback. Why not train harder when you are 25 years old and do all you can to be good. But he didn't All ego. Tim had the potential to be great I think but he gave it away by looking terrible against Bonecrusher and Thomas . At least when Tommy Hearns comes back at the same age Tim Witherspoon is that Tommy put his all out in his prime and is a great fighter. But Tim came up short then, and why do we care if he is sparring.
