Super Tecmo Bowl was the one I love to play. If friends come by during the NFL season I always get it out and challenge anyone who thinks they have skills.Originally Posted by clean

That was a love hate game.
Loved it when I was winning, but then ready to smash the controller when you get run over on a bullshizz play. You do the diving tackle and your guy just bounces off and he runs for 80 yard td. I think the worst team to play was S.F. 49rs. All you had to do was throw the ball to Rice and it would get caught. Montana runs backwards and throws the ball right before getting sacked and rice catches it in the endzone. We had rules like no bullshizz pass plays with 49rs. Etc.....

SHIT YEAH Techmo Bowl rocked.....if you weren't the Raiders (great defense + Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson), 49ers (Montana, Rice, Craig & decednt defense....and give some love to Rathman, the best fullback ever!!!!) or DA BEARS (BEST DEFENSE EVER + Walter Payton) then you would get your shit handed to you!!!!
don't forget the GIANTS with LT!!!! he would crush the kicker everytime and he was almost just as fast as Bo or Sweetness!!!Originally Posted by Lyle

Yeah, that was the most unfair team advantage in the game. I don't think I ever beat someone who was using them.
Like I said before, Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) and Super Tecmo Bowl (Super NES) were so much better than the original.
I liked dropping all the way back to the endzone and heaving TD passes! That was always fun
I used to get pissed if a computer team scored on me. Would try to win a whole season without getting scored on and would play a team where the computer would pull a Bo Jackson. Like Lyle says, all you need is a good back and a good defender. Most teams had em.
Buffalo,Chicago,Giants,Dallas, Raiders,
Still was fun but so damn frustrating. I seriously must have went through about a dozen controllers. Between mashing buttons or throwing them......
Also did anyone else have to invent things to keep your N.E.S. working. Using the cartridge from another game to keep the game low enough to load properly, then rigging up other gadgets to hold it in place.
I still have my NES....I haven't used it in a while though. I wasn't big on sports games for it, other than BASEBALL....and Punch OUT
I alway's thought it was bullshit that if your competitor pushed the same play as you on the control stick that he would automaticly destroy your whole play, damn give me a chance to run the fucking play.
Yes. That was a sham. Randall Cunningham could actually run away from the rush even if they picked your play, which was an ever greater sham.Originally Posted by brazilianbomber

Yes. What a pain in the a** that inevitable problem came to be. Stupid spring load system...
And no matter how secure the game was it would randomly black out at the most inoprtune time. Never when the AI broke a 60 yard TD run (the only points scored agsinst you all year.) It only happened when you scored the winning TD on a friend or snapped an old personal record.
