Default ~(GAB) Bans Filipino fighters from fighting in Thailand INDEFINITELY~

The GAB (Games and Amusements Board), the philipnes' governing body for boxing states that they have suspended the issuance of travel authority to ALL Filipino boxers who wan't to fight in Thailand.....
This is all coming from the tragic death that just occured this past Friday when Lito Sisnorio took a beating from former Champ. Chatchai Sasakul.
GAB chairman states that untill he is ensured the safety of his fighters then ban will remain indefinitely.....

This is crazy! man I mean certain procedures and regulations have to be taken here and they werent..... Someone skiped a few steps and disreguarded the regualtions, Someone knew this wasn't right and they closed their eyes and let this one go by....

IMO that Someone has to serve some time.

This is what the fight reads on BoxRec:
"Catchweight of 116 lbs. Sisnorio died from injuries sustained in this fight. Sisnorio is 11-5-1 following this fight. This fight has no approval from Philippine boxing commission, Games and Amusement Board (GAB), and considered as illegal."

Thoughts on this, banning of ALL Filipino fighters from Thailand.....

Well, I mean Thailand and the Philippines are two of the major players in the lower weights. And because of how relatively close they are, they compete a lot. In fact, wasn't the world cup of boxing supposed to be Mexico vs. Philippines this year? And last year it was Mexico vs Thailand. That shows you how significant both countries are. This is crazy. I mean that is a huge step. Hope it gets sorted quickly.

I've also noticed that Thai fighters tend to never stray from their own backyard. I never knew if the money was greater in Thailand or whatever, but maybe it's because of favorable treatment from the commissions? I mean if they went this far, something has to be seriously wrong here because that is a huge step.

    RIP Sisnorio.

Another thing, how did Sisnorio manage 3 fights with world rated fighters with such a poor record? Krateangym, Pongslakek and Chatchai? All in a row?

Well, as far as Pongsaklek look at his record, please don't do this to me amat (I also read your note on the Prediction for this week)....

Geez! thanks amat, good night to you too.

That was really shocking... Well, that is life. People here in the Philippines die of hunger. Better fight and have a chance to earn money.

Many Filipinos are even going to Iraq despite the travel advisory not to go there. They would rather die in Iraq that stay in the Philippines with hungry stomachs.

Am I the only one who sees that this was not an approved fight?
This was done without the consent of the commision, therefor it's ilegal.....

GAB realy wants to stop Filipino boxers who fights in thailand who have really no chance of winning pitted against much skilled thai opponent and serves just to pad their record. thailand is well-known for making mismatch fights. imo, because of this mismatches, tragedy like that of Sisnorio is just waiting to happen.

my thought is until thailand's boxing authorities will continue to patronize making these mismatch bouts, GAB really has the right to impose ban for the safety of the filipino boxers.

    Well said,
Someone needs to be prosecuted for this IMO......

You know I never really thought about this match making that goes on up untill now. I was going throught the records of fights being held in Thailand and for the most part they really are mismatches.... I have to say I was a bit ignorant towards this happening and it's not that I didn't know it was happening I just never really gave it much thought....

I grew up in Saudi Arabia and I swear I've never seen people treated so poorly for working so hard. The country runs on Philipino, and subcontinent labor. They pay barely anything and these people somehow find a way to send most of their checks back home to their families. These are often university graduates that are incredibly intelligent and industrious and they end up being bossed around by some halfwit.

Filipinos are known hard workers even with little pay all over the world. Sending their money back home will yield greater than to spend it where they work. Still pretty cheap to live in the Philippines, Starbucks Frap is about $2.5 dollars

The mistake here is the mismatch. Suspending permits to fight in Thailand is a good quick decision. Local boxing scene in the Philippines is at its all time high, we can develop fighters here anyway that is why the requirements for a Filipino fighter to fight elsewhere is very high.
