Default Give the I-Man a break!!!

In recent days, radio legend Don Imus has taken some heat for what he said about the Rutgers Womens basketball team.

He said, and I quote "Those Rutgers girls were rough looking"...."They had tatoos"...."I'm going to tell you they were some nappy headed hos on that team"

Now whether or not those comments were appropriate is not the issue.....Imus is being called a RACIST and a BIGOT for saying that.

What's racist about those remarks? And know full well that Tennessee had black players on their team to!

And what the fuck is racist about what he said "Nappy headed"....can white girls not have nappy hair? Is that just a black thing "Hos"....I know some white girls who are hos! "Tatoos"....yeah black people aren't the only ones who have tatoos, just check the lower back of any white girl age 18-30 and chances are you'll see a tatoo!

And guess who is taking the lead on this witch hunt.....none other than AL SHARPTON.....I fucking hate him, HE is more racist than Imus.

Also Don Imus hates on most of Rutgers' sports teams because his sports guy on the show covers the football games and everything and they have a love-hate relationship, as in they both love to hate each other. And also Imus talks shit about everyone, he doesn't really exclude anyone and I admire that.....but it's an ACT (he's a shock jock), he doesn't truly believe those things, I mean we're talking about a guy who helps kids with cancer and who helped build a new hospital/rehab center for injured soldiers.

Don Imus is a drunk (former) who probably doesn't have any thought process when something comes to mind. He just says it. That being said, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are two guys who have never held a real job in their lives. All three of them should be put in a boat, pushed out into the ocean and fired upon by the U.S. Navy.

    Don Imus....I like the guy.....

    HOWEVER

The thing is that Sharpton and Jackson took something totally out of context and act like it was aimed at the entire african-american community and that's fucking ridiculous.

What Imus said was stupid BUT he appologized and that should be the end of it.

I don't like how Sharpton and Jackson are getting extremely close to trying to control what everyone says....FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS #1! If someone can burn the American flag, then people should be able to say stupid shit!

I don't listen to him so this wont really affect my life that much. To be honest this country is going the hell at a rapid rate. Now i dunno what to make of his comments i mean they are certainly not as hateful as they could've been and they very much fall under the category of a "backfired joke". I don't know what it feels like to be offended racial because im white and as a true white person i have no idea what the origin or meaning of any white racial slurs are (if someone would elaborate on them i would appreciate it).

There's too many people in this country who want free speech for everyone (or so they say) and then turn around and want people punished if they say something that isn't politically correct. The gay rights movements (which is funny because none of their rights are violated to begin with ) examplify this better than anything else. They wanna be able to express their beliefs freely but not want to hear criticism about it (sounds like a bunch of commies to me). It doesn't work that way. No matter what you are someone in this world doesn't like you and will verbalize that fact, deal with it.

I have never listened to Imus and if he were fired today I wouldn't notice a difference. However, I agree with you Lyle, he said nothing racist.

Imus didn't say anything different than some rappers.

Hey if blacks want to give everyone the ammunition to destroy them in the form of a word then it's their call.

White people need to stop carrying guilt around with them just because they are white and white people have done bad things in the past.....don't feel guilty for something you didn't do.....now that seems to be a bit of a racist statement but it's true....I didn't own any slaves or beat anyone up, or do anything evil because of race so I'm not going to feel guilty about it because I am only responsible for MYSELF I don't need anyone else's crap on my shoulders.

Seems to me guys like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been forgiven for their past mistakes Tawana Brawley and the 'Hymietown' comment.....and they always want forgiveness right away UNLESS they can profit from drawing it out which is the case right now.

No one goes through life without making mistakes....but if you're going to ask for forgiveness for yourself then you had better be able to forgive someone else in the future!

Imus is a piece of S***, he's said much much worse things than this.

Sharpton and Jackson are annoying as hell though.

its a complicated issue. Of course whites feel guilty because of the horrible things they did and rightly so but i don't think extreme pc and affirmative action are ways to make everything equal for everybody. I think if you really want progress to be made you gotta let it happen on its own not under affirmative action bs and extremely restricted speech.

....well Imus can be annoying, you have the right to have that opinion BUT what precident does this set

You can make fun of white people but you can't make fun of anyone else!

I'm sick and fucking tired of when minorities do this all for one and one for all bullcrap......Imus made a NON RACIST joke about one women's basketball team and yet all blacks are offended....when in actuality ONLY THE RUTGERS TEAM HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE OFFENDED!!!!
