If kessler wont take the fight in june, hopkins wright and taylor are busy, why is it such a bad thing for him to get his mandatory out of the way now so he will be free when the rest are? its not as if he is waiting 6 months after a fight to fight inkin is it?

i mean what, he has picked to fight sooooo soon coz the others are busy?

There was a guy on FNF that beat this guy after kissing him on the forehead and he just won a title. Why doesn't Joe fight him and unify, he isnt busy

If he must fight a tomato can then fight him in America. Personally, I would have picked Allan Green, Tony Hanshaw or someone like that. They're available too. Inkin is what everyone's complaint with Joe is about and it's not illegitmate. People want to see him fight SOMEONE- it's been Lacy and that was just about it.

And he hurt his hand again? Wow those things are fragile.

he fights green or hanshaw now, by the time one of the 'top' boys are there to fight the WBO will most likely turn to joe and force himt o fight inkin - so it only make sense to fight him now and get him out of the way if kessler wont step up to the plate...

Don't worry about that, the WBO have already stated they're happy for Calzaghe to face either Kessler or Taylor and it'll be regarded as a mandatory defence..Kessler cause it'll be a unification, Taylor cause he's one of their super champs.

Realistically, although he has taken really two stay busy fights since fighting Lacy and everyone is sick of it, I guess if he's going to fight again soon you can't expect it to be this mega fight everyone wants... Taylor vs Spinks and Hopkins vs Wright are way too close to July.. I guess Kessler won't take the fight that soon, so Inkin is fine imo.. I think he's a very good prospect anyways, from what little I've seen. For my money Froch, Bute, or Berrio would be slightly better fights for Joe to take but Inkin is certainly on that level.. I think Calzaghes best hope is for a fight with Taylor, Kessler, or Winky if he beats Hopkins, in the fall.

Frank Warren is a goddamn joke and I'm starting to seriously dislike Calzaghe. After all that talk about going to the states, about how Manfredo is a "name" in the states and fighting him will generate interest in a super-fight with Hopkins/Wright/Taylor over there, all of a sudden he doesn't need to go to the states and blah blah blah. I'm not sure if Calzaghe is a coward or if Frank Warren just doesn't want his cash cow to lose that 0 (like that means jacksh*t anyways).

Preme, you make a good point, but couldn't those fights with Hopkins/Taylor/Wright/Anyone with a pulse have been made before Calzaghe signed on to fight Manfredo? All these paper thin excuses from Warren for why Calzaghe is fighting lesser opponents are starting to wear thin with me... If all you want to do is pack that arena in Cardiff and cash in, then fine, just say so. But don't talk about being great, or being P4P, and don't act like some tragic figure who just can't seem to make these big fights happen.
Pretty soon even Valuev will have a better record than Calzaghe, pound for pound top 10 my ass - maybe when you fight someone who actually presents a challenge.

Probably the cash cow argument.Promoters can be like that. There's a reason Tyson never fought Witherspoon,or Morrison
One of the things I love about B-hop,he allways wants the fight, everyone says he cant win.

    Really?
Everyone said he couldnt beat Trinidad,he did
Everyone said Taylor was too much for the old man,he fought him twice, and decisioned both times
He called out Roy Jones Jr for 4 years asking for nothing more then a proper champion to champion split,Jones dodged him
Everyone said there was no way he could move up in weight to beat Tarver,he did.
Everyone says alot about B-hop,he just makes them,to quote George Forman after the Trinidad fight,"I wish I could find my words,so I could eat them."

    Once
    Maybe
    That first decision was crap
And Taylor, considered the hottest gun in the Middleweight divison, fought a guy almost twice his age,and managed decisions, not KO's,not TKO's,contaversial decisions
