Default De la hoya vs Mayweather Great for boxing!!

I swear this fight is a great match up. Whether you agree with me or not, you have to like this fight cause it's doing so much for the sport. I see signs when i drive downtown. I see people everywhere talking about Mayweather, talking about Oscar. People that are not boxing fans but have gain interest with all the attention surrounding the fight. I see Gothic people at school talking about the fight LOL. It's insane. I haven't heard this much commission in a very long time. I hear soccer players talking about 24/7 the DLH n FMW show... That is why this is one of the best fights in recent history. Because it's pinning two of our pound per pound fighters, one who is current and one who is on his twilight days.... I'm so glad that boxing is getting this much needed attention, and picking up new fans. Finally people are hype about a fight and its not UFC. I just tought i would share this with you guys.....

I would like to here if someone else thinks this fight is taking a step to getting boxing back to it's glorious days and how it benefits...

    Haha best testimonial yet!

Any publicity is good for this sport right now. You don't generate this much talk without having lasting effects for some time.
All eyes are on boxing right now.
Like in the Oscar and Tito fight. Always easy to draw comparisons to that one.
The fight didn't even come close to living up to expectations.
If the fight was one of the battles of the ages like we hoped it would be, it would've vaulted those two men into a different stratosphere.
But it wasn't. But I do believe the sport gained far more than it lost.

Regardless though, eyes are on the sport again when they weren't before.
It's a good thing. After May 5th, it could be a great thing. We'll see.

I said earlier, I wish they stacked the undercard stronger than they have.
If they could've gotten someone like a Berto or Miranda on the card, damn, they'd become celebs over night. Generating more interest in their future fights and once they become the big dogs of the sport, the casual fan will remember them. And BOOM, a star is born.

Interest in this fight in Mainstream press and Television has been great down here and you cannot deny this is good for boxing providing it isn't a snooze fest as Ice Cold says. I don't think it will be because those opening few rounds are going to be incredible.

I'm a boxing fan, and have been for many years. So yeah, I hope it's a great fight and that it's great for boxing. Boxing could use all the help it can get right now. It's great to hear people excited again.

On the fight itself, I'm rooting for Floyd (as most anyone who knows me knows).... but I'm predicting an Oscar win, possibly by KO. I'm upset that once again Oscar has called the shots and pulled the strings. Fighting Floyd at 154 is highway robbery. Can't believe Floyd was stupid enough to accept that weight. Oscar will get credit for beating the consensus p4p, which is good for Oscar's legacy.

Whatever. I just hope it's a good fight. Personally, I think Cotto-Judah will be more entertaining.
