i jus hope miranda ko's pavlik n taylor. and eventually gets a shot at someone like calzaghe. that would be an awesome fight, by then miranda would have plenty of fights under his belt. he'd have fought dangerous opponents consecutively. he also has a punchers chance and can box a little too with a long reach (jab). overall, a very dangerous fighter.

this guys for real. old skool, he'll fight anybody anywhere anytime! and often! he fought eastman, abraham, gibbs, green and now in a months time he is fighting another very talented undefeated fighter in pavlik. this fight will give the winner a title shot. i just wish miranda gets to taylor before calzaghe, cos i want calzaghe vs miranda cos i want calzaghe's ass beat...and badly, and miranda is the guy with the tools to do jus that!

no way miranda beats joe, joe can take a punch with the best of em, not as if miranda would get to land that many on him. It would be a boxing exhibition mirroring the one joe put on lacy, joes not going to get beat by a ko artist, if someone does it, it'll be someone with a lot of skill and expertise in the game, say a wright or hopkins, and even in those fights I'd still give joe a good shot.

Kelly Pavlik is more polished than Edison Miranda. And I do believe that he will defeat Miranda. He is the bigger man. He throws punches that are much more technically accurate(than most). And Miranda does not exhibit very good head movement, slipping, fainting or blocking abilties. He's been stunned and dropped in the last few fights that I've seen him in except the Gibbs fight. Abraham had a badly broken jaw and rocked Miranda several times after the jaw was already broken. Miranda should've won that fight and he should have been disqualified at the same time. You choose. Miranda to his credit is a consistently hard puncher with a real will to win. He's had one heck of a life story. And he is not unwilling to employ some rough house tactics. I love how he measures with his left before he throws the overhand right. It seems to intimidate some of his opponents. Against a technical puncher like Pavlik, though, I believe measuring would just cause him to get caught with some clean straight rights and left hooks. Intimidation and trash talk are a big part of his tactic and this time around he seems to be more focused on Jermain Taylor and trying to get in his head than the opponent in front of him. Which I believe to be a mistake because Pavlik appears to be taking him very seriously. These guys are both the #1 and #2 contenders in thier division and niether should be thinking about any fighter other than each other. Most importantly. Even if Miranda were to defeat Pavlik there is not even an inkling of a garuantee that he would ever get a shot at Taylor. Pavlik wins by K.O. in the sixth round or UD but either way Miranda goes down sometime around the sixth. Guess thats my six cents.

Good post man and let me be one of the first to welcome you to Saddos. Heres a on me. Although I do agree with most of what you said. I don't think Pavlik is going to knock Miranda out. I think he will outbox him though. I'm hoping for a Miranda win because I really like him however he just isn't as polished as Pavlik right now. I believe we will see A UD for Pavlik. Then I hope Taylor fights Pavlik, which I think will be a really really good fight.

To be honest I dont know if he's getting by Pavlik, who can box pretty well and has the ability to cover up and land a good counterpunching attack on his opponents. Because of this I think Miranda is going to have a lot of trouble beating Kelly. If he does, I think either Jermaine or Joe would straight out just completely fuck him up. Edison has a great offensive attack, but both Calzaghe and Taylor have great boxing/counterpunching skills to trump it. Edison Miranda often doesnt defend himself when he goes on one of his offensive rushes and that's where I can see him getting lit up really bad when a good defensive opponent counters this with some slick footwork. Also his straight-ahead, bull-charging style doesnt bode well when matching him with more defensive and strategic counterpunching fighters like JT and JC; whom i can see luring Miranda into chasing them and coming straight at them then moving and counterpunching the daylights out of him all night long, as I really dont think he know any other ways to box than the straight forward bullrush style he has shown us so far. Miranda needs a lot of work on his defense and keeping his hands up. Only experience and more training are the answer to this as he is not ready for fighters like Joe Calzaghe or Jermaine Taylor yet. I like Edison Miranda though. He is exciting to watch though, and I think his upcoming bout with Pavlik will be a really exciting fight. Can't wait to see more from him.

This guy is on his way to being exposed. I don't think Jermain Taylor is even aware of this dude as much he thinks. People talk about this guy so much that its getting hard for me to look at him impartially. Boxing is so desperate to return to its former prominence as a sport that fans, writers, etc. are willing oil the "squeekiest wheel" then call it charisma or greatness. Allan Green did not really fight, yet he still put Miranda on his seat. Eastman had him knocked out on his feet and he was saved by the bell and then by a questionable stoppage. He broke Abrahams jaw and then could'nt finish him. And he has the nerve to complain about the fight continuing. Jermain Taylor is a totally different class of fighter than Edison Miranda and so are all three of his last opponents. Miranda even implying that Taylor is avoiding him is just a vain attempt to make himself seem more important and a better fighter than he really is. Come on now. The champion is ducking some nobody fighter from Columbia that talks trash in Spanish. Obviously, he is no longer a nobody but he has'nt been known of long enough for anyone to be ducking him. And, I really doubt that there were ever any million dollar deals on the table for Taylor vs. Miranda. Its funny that he's accusing Taylor of not fighting up to par competition when he just fought the longest reigning middle wieght champion(Hopkins) twice. In my opinion, he beat up on the best defensive fighter(Wright) in the sport. He outright whipped the busiest offensive fighter(Ouma) in the sport while forcing him to decrease is offensive output by nearly half. I would say that I can't wait to see Taylor and Miranda get it on, but I think Pavlik is going to whip Miranda. Staight punchers over looping punchers all day, and Miranda has a sleepy chin. I would rather see Taylor/Miranda than Taylor/Pavlik because I think there styles would make for more of an exciting fight, as opposed to a more tactical fight. But, mostly because this dude is inflated by his mouth more so than reality. And its time for some reality in the sport. At least when Floyd Mayweather Jr. talks trash its based in reality.
I think Pavlik would have the possibility of giving Taylor some real trouble. Miranda would give Taylor more of an oppurtunity to showcase his talents and he would beat the s!@t out of Miranda. Easily. Gauranteed!

....I think Taylor will do his best at higher weight classes.

If Taylor should fight ANY of the top tier fighters at 160 he should fight Arthur Abraham. AA is undefeated (like Taylor) and has beat some very good fighters.

Look at the level of comp... Here are a few for Miranda Eastman, Abraham, Green Now pick a Pavlik opponent and try to match it to the level of those 3........... You cant, Miranda is tested and passed with flying colors.. Pavlik hasnt Fact

I have no clue where this notion of Pavlik as a master technical boxer-puncher comes from. The guy is very slow, very wide, and anything but "technical." I'm not saying that Miranda is any of those things either, but this idea that these are two different kinds of fighters, or that Pavlik's going to "outbox" someone, seems completely out of nowhere.

    On the money sir.

How many times have boxers been caught, when their plans are on the future and not the fight at hand?
