How would this fight turn out (without knowing how Williams will perform against Margarito)?

That's like saying how would Cotto do against Mayweather without knowing how he will perform against Zab Judah... Or if someone had asked how Ricky Hatton would do against De La Hoya before and without knowing how he would do against Kostya... There's really just too much up in the air.. I think Paul Williams is fun to watch but his defence is quite leaky and I think Vernon would have nailed him hard and often with straight shots.. For Williams massive reach he really doesn't fight like a big guy and I think this could get him beaten badly at a top level. We'll have to see how he takes a real punch and reacts under effectively applied pressure. If he has the heart and chin to back up his fighting style then he could be very hard to beat... But the way I see it he'll need a huge abundance of both to beat top guys.

That's the entire point. Anyone can analyze a fight when each fighter has been truly tested, but very few are able to do so when one of the fighters has not yet had a big fight (case in point, not too many said Hatton would beat Tzsyu). This way it makes it more of a challenge.
