What a great film - first of its kind for 1987 surely. First half war film second half alien slasher movie !

No female love entanglements or soldiers with troubled home lives and inner demons - just straight warfare and violence

And Appollo Creed to boot

Did you watch The Predator on DVD, Mark?

I've found that if I watch a movie I thought was trash on DVD it's suddenly a wonderful film that's much much better than I remembered it to be.

watched the beginning and ended up seeing it through

i tend to find i have films on dvd but never watch them - yet when they are on tv and i flick onto them i watch them...

I know what you mean. I do the same thing and I have a theory on it. I think it feels safe because you can flip the channel in an instant and be rid of it, but if you put in the DVD you feel obligated to watch the entire movie.

i find it odd that a futuristic warrior with such advanced technology/weapons cant see its enemy if it is covered in mud?

The way the put the story together ie, aliens and predators in the same movie is quite clever.. Especially if you've seen any documentaries or learnt anything about ancient civilizations...

we also bet on who would win and i bet the predators would win and she bet the aliens would win and i won some sexual favor from her or something lol
