Default I will not be purchasing the B-Hop-Winky PPV and you shouldn't either...

What the hell is the point of this fight being on PPV? B-Hop is old as fuck and Winky is getting up there too. The fight is happening at a 170 catchweight? That's weird. Neither guy has anything to prove. B-Hop "made history" by moving up and beating Tarver but what does he have to prove against Winky Wright? If B-Hop wins, so what? If B-Hop loses, so what? B-Hop is the "universally" recognized light heavy champ but if Winky wins, I highly doubt Ring will rank him as the champ at 175. If Winky wins, then he beat an old man up. There is nothing for either fighter to win or lose in this fight, there's no hatred or rivarly between them, essentially there's no title on the title, so there's absolutely no reason for this fight to be on PPV.

While the ODLH-Mayweather megafight could have been better, it was still a great boxing match and I didn't feel cheated out of my money. There was a lot for both men to gain by winning the match. That's a real reason for a PPV fight.

The B-Hop - Winky fight is a good fight for hardcore boxing fans like us but they shouldn't be parading this crap around on PPV. This is a quality HBO WCB fight, but because of the greed of B-Hop and Winky, fans have to purchase this meaningless fight on PPV?? That's fucked. If Winky wanted a big paycheck, then he should have fought the JT rematch for the guaranteed $5 Mil he was offered with a chance to make more from the PPV. If B-Hop wanted a big paycheck, then he should have brought down his ridiculous double digit paycheck demands to fight Masakev and move up to heavy. Double digits?? Is B-Hop serious? This is a guy who has never headlined a show on his own and isn't popular or a crowd favorite. Both those fights would have meant a lot more than this one and they would have made more money. If JMM-MAB only did 225,000 PPV buys, what in the hell makes these two crooks think they are gonna do any better than that? I like both fighters but they are being extremely greedy. Please Saddonians, don't support this garbage PPV.

Yeh this fight seems like the equivalent of a pre season football friendly/exhibition match being broadcast on ppv. Pointless......it won't even be an exciting fight. It's the sorta fight i'll catch on the re-run because there is no way i'll manage to stay awake until 4:30am for it.

    FYI

I read in The Ring magazine that this fight will be for the Lightheavy The Ring belt despite the catch weight.

I'm not saying this is a reason to order the fight. Just so you know.

Oh yeah, a match between two of the p4p best of our generation, for pride, at the end of thier careers. Who would want to fork over 30 bucks for that?

    I'll buy.

These our some of the greats of our generation.
currently #5 and #6 on the Ring's pound for pound list.
Not to mention after seeing both of their last fights, I
think it will be a surprisingly hi punch output affair.

While I am MAJORLY looking forward to this fight - as I feel a win in this fight for either guy is a HUGE plus to their legacies - I agree it probably doesn't belong on PPV. I'm not complaining because me and my buddies watch the PPVs at a local bar and don't buy them anyway, but this really isn't a PPV I would buy.

Barrera - Marrquz was a Golden Boy fight, did not stop it from being great. This is going to be a good fight imo.

Yall are missing the entire point of this thread. I'm not saying the fight is garbage, I'm saying that the fight isn't that important and it doesn't belong on PPV. Yall defending a fight like this being on PPV is what's allowing boxers to demand ridiculous numbers. Fights like this should be on regular HBO. IMO, fights like Cotto-Judah should be on regular TV. Look at JT-Winky I, that fight was probably a borderline PPV fight but HBO made sure that the fight made it to regular HBO. When fights are doing under 300,000 buys that means that they probably don't belong on PPV. Boxing has blurred the lines on what is truly a PPV and what is not. The fans need to redefine the lines. Mayweather-De La Hoya is a PPV. Calzaghe-Kessler is a PPV. Peter-Klitschko is a PPV. Mayweather-Mosley is a PPV. Mayweather-Hatton is a PPV. A fight should be on PPV if it's gonna be a great action packed fight between two champions or popular fighters or if the stakes are really high.

I dont mind PPV if the card is decent, if they could just lower the price a bit. The crowd that pays to see it live kind of get ripped you gotta pay at least twice as much to get ringside for an average fight. This fight is big for both fighters...if Bernard loses well there goes his comeback..if Winky loses he will always be overshadowed by Hopkins. It has become too much about money nowadays, if thats what your getting at.

Yes sir..I will certainly loose interest in an intruiging match up of two pound for pound great fighters and not bother watching it on your command
