Default The Hatton Humble Pie Forum

    Good Morning Y'All.

I have set this topic up to invite those of you who thought Hatton was boring, inaffective, dull, overhyped, average...etc, to comment on last night's performance. Are you still doubters Or do you have any humble pie to eat.

...and i you still have your doubts, what does he have to do now to make you a believer

Similarly, for those of you who have stck by 'the fat man' - take the stage! Hatton is a Mancunian Warrior and that was a fookin impressive performance !!!

I have nearly every Hatton fight so no one can tell me he is boring etc.
This was the Ricky Hatton I know.

This Ricky Hatton is the Tazmanian Devil I am use to seeing.

He was on point with his body shots tonight.

The final body shot was loud as a son of a biatch, I am sure Castillo will be pissing blood for a month. I know Castillo has something broken back there. I just know it!
    Another great body puncher.
I was hoping Ricky would eat Castillo alive and he did.

    Great win.

Im a Hatton fan but his last two bouts did underwhelm me...this was Ricky back in his element again.

I just hope he gets a follow up made quickly and keeps that weight down!

Same as Danny G I have nearly all Hattons fights on DVD & I knew after the last few underpar performances that he was gonna be back to his distructive best. Ive only had about an hours kip but I just cant sleep im still buzzing!!
Must admit though I didnt expect it to end so early but that bodyshot was right on the button, wouldnt be suprised if Castillo has a few broken ribs. Ive been arguing with so many friends about that Hatton wasnt on the decline and this just proves me right.

This is just the start as well baby, the super fights are coming. He might have to fight Malignaggi first, which would probably be another great showcase for "the fat man", but the big fights are coming. Could you imagine Hatton v Mayweather in MGM or Thomas & Mack? Or Hatton v Cotto in the Garden? It's the stuff that dreams are made of.

Got it bang on, but Corralis was struggling with weight. It was pretty obvious what would happen, Ricky Hatton is a good fighter make no mistake, it was a case of aclimateization, this time they got it right.

Now i pray Mayweather grows some nuts and gets in there with Ricky and see how he can hold him off for 12 rounds on the backfoot !

One punch finish of the year!

Hatton looked locked in the strength dispairty was obvious from the 1st round and despite the Commentators having kittens about Ricky Hatton staying in Range the fighter knows himself where he feels comfortable !

Top Job i couldnt believe Hatton hit such an accomplished Mexican a veteran of over 60 fights with a left hook and kept him down !

Unreal better than Mayweather and Dela Hoyas tickle me then ill tickle you contest by a million miles a big fight that lived up the hype !

Kelly Pavlik , Ricky Hatton and Carl Froch the men to lead boxing into a new era !

    YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH baby yeah !

He looked pretty good but I still don't like his style much. Leaderman summed it up pretty much when he called him 'Hook and Hold' Hatton, should be his nickname rather than the Hitman I think lol.

Castillo looked awful. I said before he was washed up and Ricky would win easily, but I didn't see it ending as early as it did.

I still think Floyd tap dances on Hatton's ass and I'm not sure how he'd handle Malignaggi or Witter either.

Like Kosta Tyszu he got Castillo at the right time.

Still I'll say this much for him. He is one of the most consistent performers out there. He always gives 100% and can always be relied upon to bring it. I don't think he has the talent to beat any of the top guys at 147 lbs but he's certainly maximised his potential.

And there's no doubt he's a class act as a man, you gotta love him really.

He was wayyyyyy off with his remark about Floyd though! Give me a Floyd Mayweather technical performance over Hatton's Ruizesque grappling style any day of the week

Stopping Castillo in the 4th round was a great result for Hatton but until he landed that finishing body shot i did'nt see anything different from Hatton he was still bulldozing in did'nt really use the jab he was hurt a good few times to the body by Castilo out of the 3 low blows i thought only 1 was low really Ricky was moaning to the ref like a little girl he said he wanted a tear up.Anyway as i was saying he was just bulldozing in and he threw a few punches and then held the holding was frusrating to watch why does he throw a few punches on the way in and then hold.He should move more keep abit more distance then he would'nt have to hold it makes him look scrappy the result was agreat result for Hattons record but he was getting caught quite abit i did'nt think he changed in anyway i dont find him exciting to watch i find him frustrating all the grappling and holding he does'nt have to do that he should only really hold when hurt.Im not a Hatton fan but good result now he has to go back upto Welterweight because thats where the big fights are i would like to see Hatton vs Cotto next.

Watch the fight again, Hatton was ripping him with a lot of powerful shots, in all 4 rounds, Castillo got some bombs in too it was lot of action for 4 rounds, and there was barely any holding.

I won't be watching it again once was enough i can only ever watch a hatton fight once the holding is so frustrating great result for Hatton but i would prefer to watch him without all that holding he does it for no reason if he was shaken or hurt fair enough but he does it as part of his fight plan its about time referee's started picking up on this.
