    Default Question about stealing wireless..

The past month or so I have been using a random unlocked wireless network that my laptop picks up. I have used it pretty much exclusively: e-mail, news, saddos, downloading music, movies...*cough* porn.

Anyways, it still doesn't show up as locked, but it no longer works. I figured if there was no password on it I was basically being invited to use and and always hoped my presence was unknown.

Would the person with the network be able to see what I was viewing or how often I accessed the network? What really freaks me out is the possibility they could see all my viewing history etc. because I think I know who's network it MIGHT be and it would be embarrassing! Or would it have to be a techie to figure out if/what someone was using their network?

If it just shows my ip or something I don't care...but if it list's it as "Andrew's Computer" or shows all the sites/how often I used the connection then...that is worst case scenario.

Dont give an answer unless you know a lot about these things...last thing I want is "yup, by now they know everything about you...credit card number, email, and your perverted little mind" when in fact it would be hard to know what I've used it for.

Thanks for any help please put my mind at ease!

Don't worry they can't view anything on your comp they probably put password on it they might of been newbs to internet world and only found out about it i know that happens to alot of people they get comp and don't bother and it takes them awhile to learn how to set it up everything but unless he is a good hacker then i doubt it very much so don't worry.

Can you see the signal though? I mean even if they put a password on the router he should still be able to see the signal, but would not be able to connect without the password.
And like everyone else is saying no they can not view your history at all so no worries there.

Sounds to me that either they disconnected there network connection or they stopped using the wireless. It could actually be a number of things though.

cc's again guys. The signal still shows up, it's not locked either. It has 3 bars...decent connection but i can no longer connect. Its not a big deal b/c I do have cable internet..but my lazy ass likes to lay on the bed or sofa with my laptop while online lol. I will probably just buy my own router...never had to b/c that one connection was always there.

As long as they cant see what i've been looking at I feel so much better. WHEW!
