The past month or so I have been using a random unlocked wireless network that my laptop picks up. I have used it pretty much exclusively: e-mail, news, saddos, downloading music, movies...*cough* porn.
Anyways, it still doesn't show up as locked, but it no longer works. I figured if there was no password on it I was basically being invited to use and and always hoped my presence was unknown.
Would the person with the network be able to see what I was viewing or how often I accessed the network? What really freaks me out is the possibility they could see all my viewing history etc. because I think I know who's network it MIGHT be and it would be embarrassing! Or would it have to be a techie to figure out if/what someone was using their network?
If it just shows my ip or something I don't care...but if it list's it as "Andrew's Computer" or shows all the sites/how often I used the connection then...that is worst case scenario.
Dont give an answer unless you know a lot about these things...last thing I want is "yup, by now they know everything about you...credit card number, email, and your perverted little mind" when in fact it would be hard to know what I've used it for.
Thanks for any help please put my mind at ease!
