Default Graham: “Castillo Can Bring The Best Out Of Hatton”

By Craig Phillips: Ricky Hatton’s trainer Billy Graham believes that Jose Luis Castillo will bring the best out of the “Hitman” when the two meet in Las Vegas on June 23rd.

Graham believes the old adage of “styles make fights” will be shown when the two meet.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Graham said: “I am expecting Castillo to bring out the best in him, but Ricky will also bring out the best in Castillo. Their styles will gel and the fans are in for a real treat.”

So do I.... But I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's an ugly and dirty fight with both guys running out of gas in a bad way. If it's true that your only as good as your last fight, we aren't exactly in for a FOTY no matter how well their styles match up. And Hatton had better look good in this fight if he really want's to do anything further with his career.

I agree, there are alot of good up and coming boxers, so if Hatton wants another contract from HBO, he needs to up his game and put a great performance on, if it is a stinker which i highly doubt, Hatton will possibly figting Witter back in England.

This fight has the potential of becoming a war of Gatti/Ward proportions, however it may also be said that it has the potential for being a dirty, mauling mess of a fight. With Castillos tendency to be litlle forgetful of the rules (particularily in relation to his head and use thereof.) and Hatton's will to retaliate when fouled the referee may well have the toughest job on the night. So i believe the ref. will play a key role in this fight.

Hatton's 'prime' lasted for one fight which in any other sport would be regarded as a fluke.

He will probably scrape past Castillo as he's been on the slide for the past couple years but he should have lost his p4p spot after scurrying away from the 147 lb division.

If he wins this are we to look forward to a showdown with the winner of N'dou and Mallignaggi?

He doesn't want the big fights, he wants the big names when they are on the slide.

Got a strange feeling that Castillio will beat Hatton this time and Hatton will win the rematch in two heartstopping fights.

Could be a plan seeing as after this fight neither of them will have anywhere else to go. Hatton ain't good enough to move up, Castillo probably is too past it so once this 'mega' fight is done so are these two fighters as far as I'm concerned.

I expect we could well see a trilogy for that very reason.

But surely Hatton would have no option to move up if he wins as there is nothing for him apart from a fight with Demetrius Hopkins. The likes of Cotto, Mosely and Margerito await.

If Hatton is to get by Castillo, he can still fight at 140lbs.

If he felt like it he could just shut N'Dou & Witter up. I still think a fight with Ricardo Torres is attractive. Torres gave Cotto a torrid time and is a very capable boxer when he wants to be.

Also, he should fight Lazcano since the fight was signed up b4 he broke his hand. Vivian Harris, D-Hop and Malignaggi are all options too.

He won't move up. I doubt he'd want to fight Demetruis Hopkins, he's up and coming and holds no paper crown. I expect Mallignaggi or N'Dou for his 19 th meaningless trinket trophy belt would be most appealing. Or he may try and pursuade Joel Casamayor to move up and face him.

Why should the recognised world champion have to move up to become a challenger?! Whats the problem with cotto coming down or mosely for that matter?

Cotto is currently making his name dominating the talent rich welterweight division, he doesn't need Ricky for anything.

Mosley can't see him having any need to go back down to 140 when he could get better bigger name fights
    at 147 and 154.

I think Cotto and Mosley would fight each other before even thinking about Hatton.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
