I think its bs personally. One of them he turned around and then fell down, and it looked fake. People have been hit low before and by worse shots (Mayweather against him for one). You get five minutes, and while a low blow can take it out of you I think it was the body shots that did him in not the low blows.

Judah himself said he was affected by the blows. Believe him or not. Whether or not it made the difference between winning and losing. it's hard to say, but two hard shots in a row has got to have an effect.

One thing worth pointing out is that those weren't borderline low, they were way low.

The one where he spun around and fell, I don't think it was faked because it happened too quickly. It was an automatic reaction imo.

Once a guy is penalized for low blows, what happens if he does it again? DQ?

He was wearing a cup and that cup does protect NOT 100% but it does protect.

PBF got low blowed and hit in back of the head as a combo.
He proceded to kick Zabs ass after.

I have been hit in the balls with a lacrosse ball while I was wearing a cup and it hurt like hell. 10 minutes later I still felt a little raw but I kept playing.

Cotto has bricks in his hands. They landed flush and they were painful to watch. I am 100% the low blows effected Zab quite a bit just b/c they came at times when he was showing momentum.

However, I don't blame Cotto and I don't think it takes away from his victory at all. Cotto won convincingly. They simply got him out of trouble when he needed it.

Judah could've rebounded from the low blows, but he choose not to. He decided to linger on them, stop punching and run/get beat down for the rest of the fight.

I don't think the low blows were the difference in the fight, but I don't think Zab was faking it either.

The second one especially landed flush. I don't care if he was wearing a cup or not, it still had to hurt like hell. He should have taken closer to the full 5 minutes to rest though.

The funny thing here is that in the post-fight interview he blamed Mercante Jr. for making him fight and not letting him rest.
Did I miss the part where Mercante rushes him?

I don't understand how they could have really hurt him. Zab Judah as we all know has no balls so why would those punches even have an impact?

Tszyu wasn't crying his eyes out when he was hit low while on the ground. Zab was. So judge for yourself.

Personally I think they effected him greatly but I won't use it to take away from the performance.

All I've been hearing at college is people calling Cotto the next Trinidad for all the WRONG reasons.

A rematch would settle this but I doubt it ever happens.

Hats off to Cotto. But I would have perferred it if no low blows had happened at all. I HATE HATE HATE to see a great fight tainted by "what could have been"

Thats why we have rematches. Like Pryor rematching Arguello and such to settle these things.

I would like to see the same thing here but it will not happen.

I don't see the need for a rematch here, what would it prove? What would Zab do differently? It would be incredibly pointless imo. Zab got his ass beaten worse than ever before,he's just looking for excuses to secure another payday,a payday which he knows will be difficult to achieve from now on.

Well it depends. Sometimes it don't bother you and you just fight on. . however I have had a cup shift on me do to a low blow.. It can have a lasting effect, and when that’s the case I usually retaliate to even the playing field. not to be malicious, just to make it even. I want my opponent to fight under the same conditions.

Let's wish Zab good luck in his next fight on TeleFutura.
