I think it would be Williams in a ud...
I like Cotto, but this is a fight I don't see happening for many years if at all. Cotto is probably going to be fighting Mosely next. And after that I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto wins, he would have a fight with DLH on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
I think Cotto is the quicker, better fighter with obviously a harder punch, but Paul Williams has the workrate, chin, and he throws better combinations. Good fight, I say a toss up.
I say Cotto UD because Williams has a good box rate Cotto as well knows how to box MArgarito just stood there wating for an openig while Cotto will create some for him. Very interesting match. Hey I like Cotto but I want him to fight the best I want him to be prooved not set up.
Go Cotto.

I think Cotto is going to fight Williams next... they should.. Cotto-Williams would be a great unification and the winner would be the greatest threat to Mayweather...Originally Posted by the wiz
I thought earlier this year mayweather would have no MAJOR threat to lose in his career.... but now i really think the cotto-williams winner would be a major THREAT IN 2008 TO MAYWEATHER...
both have the work rate most importantly and the power, and chin to impose their will on mayweather if they cant no one in boxing can...
when and if mayweather beats hatton he will be a bigger star than ever.. and so will p. Williams and cotto and I think it will be a HUGE fight...
It's a toss up in my mind. For Cotto to win he has to hurt Williams and take away his punch output. If Williams isn't hurt by Cotto he wins a decision, if Cotto can hurt him he either stops him late or does enough in the latter rounds to win the fight.
It's a real tough fight for both fighters though.
Personally I think the next 3-5 years are going to see some fantastic rivalries developing and maybe finally some great trilogies for the modern era.
Boxing is back were is suppose to be baby!!! the WW are keeping boxing alive

I think the rivalries will heat up too...Originally Posted by Bilbo

boxing in general is getting better throughout the sport....
better champs in all divisions in the last 5 years it seems like..
the current ww division might be the deepest division in the last decade or two..
I think Cotto will lose by DQ for low blows. This has nothing to do with the Judah fight. Its just that Williams is so tall I can't see any of Cottos great uppercuts and hooks to the body landing anywhere above the waist..
The man to beat Williams will be someone who will hurt him to the body and head and man handle him to lower his punch output. A bigger version of Cotto would wipe the floor with a guy like Williams. I don't know if Cotto himself could get close enough or is strong enough to make Williams quit. I do believe this will be the toughest fight for both fighters if they meet next.
I am kinda looking forward to Cotto - Mosley though...
I still chuckle to myself thinking of all those who said that Luis Collazo was going to be the next man after his fight with Hatton.
I havn't even heard his name mentioned since Mosely tap danced all over him.
He'll be forgotten quicker than Carlos whatever his name was :P
i think last nights fight was close, i actually had it even, i wasn't really impressed with Williams, most of his shots were blocked, and the one's he landed weren't really solid shots, i think that Margarito landed the harder cleaner shots, and i honestly believe that if given a rematch (which he does deserve), Tony would beat Williams and quite possibly by KO, with that said i honestly think that the faster, harder hitting, body attacking specialist Cotto would be able to impose his will against Williams and break him down worse than Tony did to the body, the 11th round in the Margarito fight would be the middle rounds in a Cotto fight, spin it around though, i think that a focused Cintron could give Cotto problems
Cotto will have a lot of work to do in that big body... I see Cotto winning with a late TKO, rounds 10 - 11.
