Default Herbie Hide v Giacobbe Fragomeni for the EBU title.

Hide has been installed as the number 1 contender for Fragomenis EBU belt. Fragomeni gave David Haye all he could handle but Haye got to him in the end. Hide is abit like Haye with the power he has and question marks over his chin? Will Hide be able to come through this fight and look for bigger better fights?

Not that it makes much difference, but Fragomeni holds the EBU-EU belt, not the 'real' EBU belt. Another Italian cruiserweight Vinzenzo Cantatore recently won that (against another Haye victim Alexander Gurov btw).

Still interesting to see if Hide can make an impact on the cruiser scene though.

Cantatori isnt much better than Fragomeni which bodes well for Hides future as a Cruiserweight.

I think he can do this.

Physically, Hide has (or had) the tools to beat any cruiserweight in the world. He was so fast and great power too.

However, he's the Golota of East Anglia so thats always a problem....

I think he'll beat Fragomeni easier than haye, get everyone excited and then lose to Swaby or someone...

Given his age too, you might be more than right.

Fragomeni tired towards the end of his last fight which left him taking a close decision. IMO, Hide can hang with him and take him late on. Herbie still has something left in the tank, so I believe he can win this.

It'll be entertaining just to see if Hide can blast the granite chin out.

Fight wont last long either way.

I still havent seen any of Hides recent comeback fights, hows he been looking? If hes anything close to what he once was he should manage this.

It is only a perfunctory title really, little more than an excuse to fight, but Hide should have what it takes to beat Fragomeni. He's short, squat and comes forward a lot, so if Hide can box his head off then he should win at a canter, but then again he's got to try and avoid getting caught in by Fragomeni.

I reckon Hide gets a similar result to Haye, with a late KO down the stretch as Fragomeni tires.

Hide will show Haye how its done and get this champ outta there in quick time.

Me neither, it seems like every week a former heavyweight turns up several fights into a comeback trail and I never knew.

    Holyfield,
    McCall,
    Moorer,
    Golota,
    Tua,
    Akinwande,
    Hide

    Anyone else I missed?

I'll probably log in next week to find that Frank Bruno is scheduled to face off against Michael Bent with a shot at Gary Mason for the winner
