WORLD champion Anthony Mundine says he will fight Welshman Joe Calzaghe any time - but only if he ever finds his "balls".
I still think JC would give Mundine a boxing lesson.

Me too! Any word on who Choc is fighting next. I hope it's someone decent!Originally Posted by Big Jack

lol mundine is just doing his best to get a payday, calzaghe wont be at SMw after he beats kessler, and with 2 or 3 more fights left in him, why waste them on mundy?
He should have been speaking up a little earlier..bit late now that Calzaghe has FINALLY decided he wants to face elite opposition in his last 2-3 bouts. Like Preme said he's not gonna waste time and money on Mundine lol
I'd love to see Calzaghe fight Mundine, great matchup imo. Personally if Joe fights and beats Kessler I'd say he would be insane to move up. He's already matched Hopkins record for defenses, if he beats Kessler he matches the legendary Ottke.
Two more after that he equals the record of the great Dariusz Michalczewski and then Joe Luis is in his sights.
He could even go for Marciano's record of 49-0, he's 43-0 now so 7 more to set a new all time record.
If I was Joe, my plan would be as follows,
Kesler in November, followed by an easy keep busy fight against an unknown in the Spring of 08, then a summer clash with either Wright, Hopkins or Taylor, finishing with another relatively easy fight in Dec.
If won them all he would be at 46-0.
2009 he fight's Pavlik, followed finally by the grudge match with Froch. Bute would be a world champ by then I'm sure so a fight with him to end the year.
He's now 49-0 and he's beat Joe Luis' all time defenses record.
Now in his final fight he moves up to 175 and fights one the champs.
If he wins he goes 50-0 and retires undefeated having cleaned up in the record books with most defenses, having beat Marciano's record and enters the Top 10 p4p of all time.
Come on Joe, no pressure, make it happen!
3rd November Calzaghe is retired. No doubt at all.Originally Posted by Bilbo

screaming "DO Something for F***s sake".If you ever get the chance to view Mundine's fight with Manny Siaca then I am sure you would agree that
it would rate as one of the worst fights in the history of the sport.Mundine has a genuine FEAR of being KOed,well haven't we all ,but Mundine is a pro fighter. When he fought Kessler I parted with some of my hard-earned to watch it and his performance was very disappointing. Now he mouths off at
a man who will take the fight up to Kessler though Calzaghe meets his waterloo here but at it's conclusion Mikkel will know he's been in a fight. In Mundine's defence tho I must admit I was surprised when he convincingly
defeated Danny Green.Mundine does rely too much on counter-punching tho and whenever he faces a name opponent that does become obvious.
He is extremely quick and undoubtedly is probably THE fastest of the Super-middles but as long as he fights with a fear of being hurt he won't reach any lofty heights in the sport as he has proclaimed he will. You can't expect to win World titles by ducking in and out of the fray looking for opportunities to land punches and simultaneously trying to avoid your opponent's leads, crosses, hooks & rips. That requires the ability of a highly skilled master boxer. There have been some
boxer.
Are most of u lads in here commenting on mundine not aussies ? Nothing wrong with that, but just curious.
Mundine looks so good, it is easy to get wrapped up in the hype of other fighters, with a better story or name or something that makes them appeal to the hard core fans. But surely u have seen mundine's improvement every 5 or so fights.
Totally agree i have been perplexed on numerous occasions when he sits back and doesn't do anything. Like with siaca, but i think he is still getting better. It is a hard game boxing, in terms of the boxing fan also. As for instance, it is written he was beat convincingly by Kessler ( who i am a massive fan of) yet if u actually saw the fight it was rather close.. one or two heavy blows more and mundine may have been the victor.
Give a guy a chance.

Fighting Mundine will add nothing to Calzaghes Legacy therefore there is no point.
