I tought Tommy did. Haglers style was not good for him but it made a great fight.

I had it for Hearns until the last minute or so when Hagler trapped him in the corner and later stunned him... Honestly, and I've watched this a ton of times, I'd probably score it a 10/10 round, if not that then I'd score it for Hearns, barely, because of those wicked right hands and his countering.

When I first saw this fight as a 4 yr. old I had no idea what the fwock happened nore do I remember, I then saw the fight again I think I was 9 or somewhere around there and I thought Hagler won (But come on how much scoring could I possibly know at the age of 9? ) I saw this fight as a 15 yr. old boy and I thought Hearns won the 1st round.

Now as I've seen it a lot I still think Hearns won the 1st round.

You read my mind clean i was just about to do this topic anyway i believe Hearns won the round he rocked Hagler bad at the start and then used nice footwork to land with hard right hands Hagler got to him in last minute but Hearns still tried and fight back anyway why we are on this type of subject of greatest rounds and who won them how about some of these.

Im not sure if this was greatest round ever but i know for certain it wasn't greatest fight ever but i will give you some rounds that would challenge this round.

Larry Holmes vs Ken Norton 15th round

I had it for Hearns until, with 10 ticks left, Hagler wobbled him. Even 10-10.

Gotta go with Hearns. It's a shame he broke his hand in that round; you gotta wonder what would have happened in the bout sans the injury. Maybe the same thing, but we'll never know.

I was watching it live as it happens ( Free here ). i was 16 and rooting for Hearns. Hearns WON the 1st round and had a case in round 2. He should've box but instead tried to KO the steel chinned hagler ang got kayoed himself

Yea this was the best fight ever for me , my Hero was Tommy Hearns and i hated Marvin for months after the fight , but then hey he was great also

I think the ref won that round; he was the only one not f#cked up!! Seriously, that's a tough call but I would score it slightly for Hearns, just seemed a tad more accurate.

Agreed.. He was more in control than Hagler besides the last 45 seconds or so.. but a 10/10 round isn't out of the question.
