I'm just gonna ssume you are. I haven't been in school for well over a year now but i think this is accurate. There's this really compkicated formula to figure out what a derivative is *which i;m assuming is what you've been given so far) but there is a much simpler way to find them.

If you have x2(which is actual 1x2) the derivative would be 2x. To find the derivative of any number you take the exponent (the superscripted number) times the constant/base number (when none is present it is 1) and then you subtract the current exponent by 1 and thats your derivative.

    1x2
    2(times)1x(2-1)
because the exponent is reduced to one, you don't have to write it and the derivative is simply 2x.

CC,thanks. I meant the other derivatives,do you think the formula you wrote down is related to other derivatives I'm interestd in? Dude,I'm sure I recall you making a thread about working in Mcdonalds, why the hell would you want to work there when you know about derivatives? There is good money in it and it's a decent job.

I'm unqualified to work there anyway . It may be related i'm gonna have to read up on them a bit more before i can tell you for sure.

I can't find the math part to these things at all but i do remember something about stock derivatives in my calculus book. I never learned about that aspect of them so i can't tell you just how far that equation goes in the process.

I can help with derivatives - the calculus kind - if you still need it.

    Yes...I am a nerd.

I may be able to help, I think derivatives are what they put in ice cream and sweets to act as stabalisers.

If you are worried then I recommend buying Green & Black's organic range, much healthier.
