    Default Marquez-Juarez confirmed!

It's official. Rocky Juarez will have a shot at WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez instead of IBF featherweight champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero on September 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on a Golden Boy Promotions pay-per-view card. Marquez' original foe Jorge Barrios was forced to withdraw after being diagnosed with multiple retinal tears, requiring immediate surgery during a routine pre-fight eye examination on Friday in Los Angeles. Guerrero is scheduled to remain on the show against an opponent to be determined.

Juarez would have stopped him IMO, when you struggle with someone like 'El Platano' not once but twice. Cause he was struggling with him in the rematch also you got a lot of road to cover.

Juarez IMO is just a level above him.

This is great news for Juarez as he's getting a bigger payday. However, I think he has a better chance of being a world champion against Guerrero. Still...this will be a great fight.

I guess this means the Chris John vs. Juan Manuel Marquez fight fell through just hours after i posted the rumor that it was a possibility.

Seriously................. Who gives a fuck about Rocky Juarez?? The guy had the good fortune of catching Barerra on what might have been the worst night of MAB's career and lost a razor thin decision. He got spanked in the rematch and has been exposed as the mediocre fighter that he is.

This fight irritates the hell out of me, but I guess there is a positive......................

I'll get to see Marquez's next fight without having to shell out any money for a ppv.

At least there will be a competitive fight as the main event. Good news in my opinion.

CC,Juarez is on my list for guys I'd like to see get KTFO. He gets title shot after title shot for his crappy performances. He robbed Raheem, didn't deserve a shot v MAB much less a rematch in which he was schooled. Then after the rematch,he flapped his gums on every boxing site on the net how MAB ran and didn't sntad and fight. Oh and he got his ass beaten by Humberto Soto who STILL has not got his title shot. WTF!!

On top of all this Juarez is extremely limited, has one admittedly powerful punch but not much else and is just a poor fighter. No jab, wooden, stiff, you'd think someone who had an extensive amatuer career would have the basics on lockdown!

This fight sucks! I just hope JMM KTFO him out!

I agree. He has had numerous chances to shine...but has been underwhelming...especially his last fight. That said...he is a hell of a puncher. If he mentally can get up for this fight he will be dangerous...Marquez should not underestimate him. That being said...Marquez has way too much skill for Rocky.

Not if Juarez doesn't let his hands go. If the Juarez who comes in throwing one punch at a time would of showed up, I think Guerrero would of easily out boxed him.

Damn. I really like Guerrero and this would have been a nice showcase for him, he's a good fighter and I think his workrate would have been way to much for Juarez. Juarez is a guy with a ton of potential, he has explosive power but he doesn't do the stuff necessary to win. It's like going to a knife fight with a gun but never bothering to take the gun out of the holster.

His showing against Hernandez, Hernandez tried to make that an exciting fight but Juarez wouldn't comply and it turned into a sloppy grappling fest. I was looking forward to seeing him have a fight really pushed on him, but looks like it won't happen.

Marquez UD and I hope this isn't PPV. And I hope they don't give Chris John to Guerrero.

Juarez is such a frustrating guy to watch, I can't decide whether he's just too patient or just flat out lazy. I can't stand watching guys with low workrates.

I think he just gets picked apart by JMM, possibly even stopped although I guess its more likely its a decision since Juarez doesn't seem to have a bad chin. At least with Barrios, I'd expect him to keep coming, keep trying while he's getting outboxed, I just don't see that kind of will in Juarez.

I'm not sure who I would have rooted for in Juarez-Guerrero, I don't like either of them, Guerrero's so dirty but at least he's more willing to let his hands go. I've heard its gonna be Guerrero-Martin Honorio now. That could be a decent fight

If its PPV then its clearly one to be downloaded.
