PS2 doesnt play newer games, whats the go?

Why wont my ps2 play new games? Its an old model but still it should play any game. Any you guys know what the go is?

Damn it lol. Nah ive decided if its fucked then im gonna upgrade to a ps3, no use buying another ps2 and then buyin a ps3 i reckon.

Is it aq different disk color like blue? The original ps2 models might not be compatible with them either than or as listed above your laser could be jacked. If you're going to get another ps2 before a ps3, I'd recommend the slim version because the lasers on those are amazing. It reads anything, even games the original ps2 I had wouldn't even attempt to.

I know some time ago there was an issue with some PS2 systems not reading games on a purple disc. Not sure if this is your dilemma though. Just thought I would mention it.

Yeah well i got it when it first came out so yeah its probably the disks i guess. Im thinkin i might just upgrade to a ps3.

A friend of mine got one (and an xbox360) for christmas (her whole family is loaded) and the graphics are amazing. The controller has a built in tilt function so it has a lot of capabilities. As I've said before, I believe it's atleast a year away from it's real upside coming into play and by that point it will have yet another price cut. There's some decent games coming out before spring this year I heard so check them out and see if it's worth getting now or just waiting awhile.
