Default WBO TO REVIEW HOLT TORRES

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...AwLdrqFKJ.html

The WBO has received a protest from the Kendall Holt camp, requesting a direct return fight with jr welterweight champion Ricardo Torres. As a result, both the Holt and Torres camps have been asked to supply the WBO World Championship Committee with a tape or DVD of the fight, and any statements, affidavits, reports, summaries, compilations of press reports, or other evidence or documents that either camp wishes the Committee to consider. After the Committee renders a decision, there will be an opportunity to appeal to the WBO Complaints and Grievance Committee. Both camps have been asked to get this done as soon as possible as to not hold up the careers of the fighters any longer than necessary.

If they didn't overturn tyson-douglas, they're not gonna overturn anything.

Everybody makes accusations when they lose. Whether they have basis or not, I feel a rematch is a reasonable request.

But he's talking about beer cans hitting him in the head and people holding on to his ankle while he'd down. Did any of this really happen?

sounds like a hostile environment. They just need to make them fight again on the undercard of Cotto-Mosley

Why would they overturn Tyson - Douglas? The long count?

This is a guy who says he was showered with beer cans and even grabbed from someone on the outside of the ring en route to losing. A lot more then a couple seconds delay before a count.

If what Holt says is true then this should definitely be overturned or at least rematched. There are plenty of big fights coming up, throw it on any of those undercards. I would love to see it.

They can review that shit under a microscope if they want. The fight was good, the stoppage was good and thats it.

Yes and one of the orgs was actually considering doing it (because it was the right thing to do for once) but all the other ones pressured them by saying they'd take away their legitimacy and what not by withdrawing support worldwide. Onto the matter at hand...

Getting hit with stuff while you're fighting is an unacceptable environment period, let alone in a title fight. He should get the rematch but he did lose and that should not be overturned. If he had torres down for a 12 count 1 round before he was stopped than he'd have a case IMO.
