Default < The BEST Boxing Event/Card Ever?

I was watching some fights last night and started thinking what is the best boxing event/card ever put together. I guess you can poast why YOU think it's the best card put together. Wether it's because of the quality of the fighters or because of the great fights they turned out to be. Or whatever reason you may have. I quickly started going through magazines and books and I dug up some fights that were held on the same card and came up with these.

    Sat. Feb. 20th 1993
Julio C. Chavez vs. Greg Haugen
Azumah Nelson vs. Gabriel Ruelas I
    Terry Norris vs. Maurice Blocker
    Michael Nunn vs. Dan Morgan
    Gerald McClellan vs. Tyrone Moore
    Felix Trinidad vs. Pedro Aguirre

    Sat. Dec. 10th 1994
Jorge Castro vs. John David Jackson I
Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Tony Lopez
    Ricardo Lopez vs. Yamil Caraballo
    Felix Trinidad vs. Obar Carr
    Frankie Randall vs. Rodney Moore
    Maurice Blocker vs. Hector Lopez
    Tony Tucker vs. Dan Murphy

    Fri. Jan 22nd 1988
    Mike Tyson vs. Larry Holmes
Carlos De Leon vs. Jose Burlon
    Oliver McCall vs. Mike Hunter
    Michael Dokes vs Ken Lakusta
    Dave Hilton vs Hector Rosario
    John Mugabi vs. Bryan Grant

    Sat. Nov. 9th 1996
Naseem Hamed vs. Remigio Daniel Molina
    Ronald Wright vs. Ensley Bingham
    Steve Collins vs. Nigel Benn
    Carl Thompson vs. Jason Nicholson
    Michael Brodie vs. Miguel Matthews
    Danny Williams vs. Michael Murray
    Michael Gomez vs. David Morris
    Herbie Hide vs. Frankie Swindell

    Sat. Sept. 29th 2001
    Felix Trinidad vs.Bernard Hopkins
    Ricardo Lopez vs. Zolani Petelo
Danny Romero vs. Ratanachai Sor Vorapin
    Byron Mitchell vs. Manny Siaca
    Nelson Dieppa vs. Fahlan Sakkreerin
    Michele Piccirillo vs. Rafael Pineda

So I was wondering what people here thought was the best event/card of boxing they've seen or maybe not even seen, but have read or heard about.

Funny you post this card, I was tempted to post it also but then thought nah! If I post it people will just say I'm being biased towards JCC.
But thanks for posting it, cause it sure as hell is a great card.
I mean 4 rematches in 1 event all 4 coming off from some insane 1st matches and you got 'Finito' & 'The Kid'.

    Well...tentative undercard for Cotto-Mosley is...

Joel Casamyor vs. an opponent later to be named
Ivan Calderon vs. Hugo Cazares II
    Luis Collazo vs. Joshua Clottey

...hence why I plan on going!

From the Don King promotions we also have to thank Tyson for being in jail at the time. I am sure that was a factor for Don at the time.

The best thing I've ever seen is Judgment night.

Sky put together 2 cards, one from Fran Warren and one from Don King and aired them one after the other as Judgment night part I and part II.

    this was the card...

    Judgement Night Part I, 9th November, 1996

Steve Collins vs. Nigel Benn (WBO Super-Middleweight Title)
Winky Wright vs. Ensley Bingham (WBC Light-Middleweight Title)
Naseem Hamed vs. Remegio Daniel Molina (WBO Featherweight Title)
Danny Williams, Carl Thompson, Herbie Hide & Michael Brodie all had undercard fights on this bill too)

Part II, MGM Grand, Las Vegas

Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson (WBA Heavyweight Title)
Michael Moorer vs. Frans Botha (IBF Heavyweight Title)
Henry Akinwande vs. Alexander Zolkin (WBO Heavyweight Title)

Superb night's boxing. I can't remember another night were nearly all the Heavyweight titles were defended in one night.

    CC VD.

That was the exact card I was going to post. Definitely the best yet imo. And yeah, the fact is that people hate Don King because he's a bit of a crook and a character. But the reason they knew his name was because of those freakin ridiculous super cards that would keep the public interested on a regular basis. If more people could be as successful as King was then boxing would be in a lot better shape.

Umm...busy basically. Getting ready to finish up high school but been sidelined a bit, had a lot of problems with my throat. Now I might have mono

Got back to posting tonight, been a slow time for boxing really I've almost been following MMA more and waiting for football to get back into the swing of things and I'm ready for this rush of big fights to hit so there is something fresh to talk about besides Victor Oganov

Maybe not the best ever, but I certaintly enjoyed these two events.

    7th May 2005

    Joe Luis Castillo-Diego Corrales I
    Juan Manuel Marquez-Victor Polo
Carlos De Leon Jr.- Marcos Primera

    21st July 2007

    Bernard Hopkins-Ronald Wright
    Michael Katsidis-Czar Amonsot
    Jorge Linares-Oscar Larios
    Demetrius Hopkins-Haider Berrio
    Librado Andrade-Ted Muller

I'd say nthe second one was better but I loved both.
