I'm never drinking again (I am a liar)
Whenever Graham has trouble sleeping at night I wonder if he calls Julian Jackson for help?

I really didnt like Herol in his prime i wanted him to loose all the time, but now i look back , he was a hell of a fighter , happy birthday Herol
Every loss he had was unlucky well except for Chris Johnson loss but i haven't seen that anyway losing razor thin decision to McCallum losing and again losing close decision to Sumbu Kalambay losing by ko to Jackson when he dominated him and Jackson's corner was about to stop the fight then overhand right boom all over and his loss to Brewer that was unbelievable he floored Brewer 3 times and got stopped in the 10th one of the unluckiest boxers of all time.Originally Posted by Dark Lord Al

Happy Birthday Herol.
His old legs gave way against Grant and Brewer but class fighter in his prime and would have beaten Hagler if Leonard not got to him first.

No he wouldn't have.Originally Posted by Master
At that time Hagler was for the taking and if Leonard out boxed him then Hagler would never have even touched Herol. He was number 1 contender at the time.

Hagler was for the taking ?? he had just beat Hearns and Mugabi Leonard won razor thin decision in which people are split 50-50 over the fight i wouldn't call that getting outboxed and Hagler hit Leonard with some good shots even though Graham was skilled his chin was always suspect and Hagler would get to that chin eventually you can't keep ducking a moving your way out of trouble especially against someone of Hagler's class.Originally Posted by Master
It probably is more in hope than reality but Hagler in 87 was not the same fighter that beat Hagler and Mugabi. Although they were his last two fights he was getting old and had been in many wars and did not fight that frequently. Remember one judge had Hagler comprehensively outboxed so that (blind) judge may have scored it for Herol. Not too far fetched I believe if it happened. People would have rightly said that Hagler was beaten at the right place at the right time. However Herol was never that lucky on the world stage.

Herol was a defensive master for sure but beat Marvin ?
i really dont think a guy with mainly head movement , and not a dancer , would give Marvin to much trouble. Hagler would simply hammer the body till he could get Herol's head ,
Marvin wins KO 7
I loved Herol Bomber Graham. At school nobody liked him because all my mates liked in your face power punchers. Graham was a top bloke and great to watch. off the top off my head I cant think of anyone more unlucky not to win a title.
I once read that as a party trick he would put a broadsheet newspaper on the floor, stand on one side and invite a member of the public to stand on the other and try to hit him. It may be an urban legend but the stories of him going unscathed during this trick wouldnt suprise me.
