Default Why Does Boxrec Have Oscar Scheduled To Fight?

May 3 08' it says he is fighting in Las Vegas against an unknown opponent. Aint that jumping the gun a little or is it scheduled then for a reason like a possible showdown or rematch (hopefully not the case) with the winner of Mayweather-Hatton?

For the last 6 years DLH has only fought on Cinco De Mayo (May 5th ) or Mexican Independence Day (September 16th - Taansend's birthday) - with the exception of the Felix Sturm fight and that's because it was a double header to build up the Hopkins fight.

This is so they can maximize PPV revenue as a lot of Mexican-Americans are having get togethers* on those weekends.

His last other night not on these dates was against Javier Castillejo back in 2001.

It's fair to assume that if he fights again next year, early May will be the HBO date.

    * I know that most Mexicans don't give a toss about Cinco De Mayo but many Americans think its Mexican Independence Day so thats when they look for all things Mexican!!!

One full year is of inactivity will hurt Oscar at this point in his career. He cant stay sharp at one fight a year at his age especially if he wants to fight the best like hes been doing.

Boxrec posts a future fight long long before it's official. Basically, if a fighter says he might fight on a date, then they post it.

If I emailed boxrec right now and told them I was fighting Wladimir Klitschko on January 1st, they would create a fighter page for me and post the fight on their schedule.

Oscar is going to dress up as a woman and he is going to fight that chick that released those photos of him in drag.
