who is jesus rios?
Good that he is gettin straight back into fighting. The boy has talent, and could still have a great career.
A mediocre fighter Rey should easily beat Rios but that won't be telling us a whole lot its just a confidence boost but i don't think Rey will ever become world champion even though he has some talent i just think that loss to Daniel Ponce de Leon was very damaging and it has effected him badly but hopefully he proves me wrong.Originally Posted by Majesty
Win or lose on this one, I don't think it is enough for RB to redeem himself from his embarassing lost against DeLeon. But it's a good step for him taking this fight.
Rey doesn't have the chin to be champion. And I'm wondering if De Leon destroyed his confidence as well.
There was only one Boom Boom, and that was Mancini.
I think he could sstill be a champ. He is only early 20's and has a lot of time to perfect his craft, the natural talent is there. It probably wouldnt hurt him to fight a few guys that arent gonna beat him just so he can ease himself up to the top rung of fighters again. Gotta remember Ponce De Leon is a chance to spark anyone at that weight. I think Rey will be champ if he has enough heart to come back from this loss.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
What champion can he beat then ??Originally Posted by eagle
Probably none at the moment, but i think if he take a couple of years, maybe has 5 or 6 fights, against decent opp that wont necessarily beat him, and slowly builds up to another title fight he could be champ. I mean in two years he'll still only be 23, bit early to right him off for good already. He needs to be managed carefully tho.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
Well i told everyone that he was rushing into the fight far too soon and De Leon was at his best he has ever been and i knew he would open up Rey early. I just think he should have had another 2-3 years on the world level stage before heading for a title and i think it was a great shame that he was put in so early with such a big reliabilty. So lets hope he can get over the loss and build from what he was building from before the defeat. I hope he gets some big names and builds that chin because i do believe he could easily be a world champion with the talent he has. Dont forget he is only 21, he has years on most people, hes still a lad and i think he develop into a very comanding fighter.
Cool Click, nice posting. You called it brother. I'm not sure if he can be a commanding fighter though, that kind of loss,at that age,can be devestating.Originally Posted by Tam Seddon
bro going in with the number one at the devison at that age is a very risking task! he took that fight far too early and was bound to get beat. its just a shame because his potenial wont be able to leak through because of this loss. i know rey boom boom has a lot more to offer than this dispiriting loss at this early stage.Originally Posted by El Gamo
im i the only one who think in the next few years who will think Molitor-Baustista will be a good fight?
I think De Leon turned Bautista into Bumtista. I can't see Rey getting over this loss. His chin won't let him.
