I've been watching some early Tyson

Why did he always wait so long on the inside to throw something... I think that was his downfall against Holyfield, because he would wait, and Holyfield would kick his ass inside. Guys were able to tie Mike up like Mitch Green, Holyfield, Lewis one because he lept in, but also two because he was so slow to actually throw something on the inside unless he was way better than his opponent.

tyson was removed from his prime early on . mike had about 3 years where he was at his best. during those 3 years he was phenomenal, could have beaten anyone . mike needed discipline . pre king he was something special , once don king got rid of the disciplinarians , tyson went down fast . shit in a hand basket . unfortunately some people need a baby sitters 24/7 . mike was one of them people .

What im saying is that Tillis is very very very very poor mans version of Ali and gave Tyson all sorts of trouble i actually enjoy that fight because he doesn't blow Tillis away like Tyson does with most of his other opponents and its very competitive.

But it was nothing to do with Tyson looking bad or ect it was Tillis constant movement that gave Tyson trouble.

Saying Mike Tyson was anything but PERFECT when he was in his prime is bound to get you sad clicked by all these crazy ass Tyson fans here.

You seriously can see his shortcomings if you look hard enough.....really he just had willingly scared opponents which allowed him to not fight perfect, he didn't have to fight guys as tough as Holyfield coming up where Holyfield had to fight tough guys, he got tested a lot early in his career and Tyson just KO'd everyone in 1-5 rounds

I have to sort of agree with you Ice. I honestly believe that Tillis was the very last heavyweight to display great footwork, at his best he could move around damn good. That was the one thing he did very well. Unfortunately he lacked in most other departments.

Agreed Tillis was very good journeyman he was quick handed and had good footwork he also had very bad stamina problems plus weak chin thats what i don't understand because when he fought Tyson he showed good chin and he showed good stamina because he was trading blows with Tyson even in the last round.

Exactly. His stamina wasnt usually very good and he had a similar mentality to Buster Douglas in general.

I might get beat up on this but Tyson greatest gift wasn't his power but his hand speed...Mike was always soft to the midsection(meaning fragile, not out of shape) and his footwork needed constant supervision by Cus and Kevin...when his footwork was on, and he used angles combined with his handspeed this made him a freak in the heavyweight division...Cus had him fighting every month, training every day so his reactions would become instinct...during his downfall, when he started pausing before throwing was because he was "thinking" and this left him open for abuse...Mike had to overcome being a short heavy it was the quickness and inside angles that nullified the hieght dis-advantage...when he became the "slugger" that appeared against Rudduck it was the end...

Cus' style was one that relied on quickness and aggressiveness, never taking a step backwards...either he forgot that post Rooney or never really understood it...Mike also always had an absolutely granite chin which also masked his decline a bit...

Prime Ali vs Tyson I'd have to go with Ali, only because Ali had the ability to adapt which Mike never really showed....
