Default How could you not be impressed with Cotto's performance?

I've seen several post talking about how they expected more from Cotto, or Mosley was past his prime, or Cotto showed he can't beat Floyd, even that the fight was not that great...yadda yada yadda.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

    1. No, Mosley is not in his prime but he was as close to his prime that any 36 year old is ever gonna be. Up untill yesterday, half the people in this forum felt that Mosley is the only man who could beat PBF. Fact is that 36 year old Mosley is still a top 5 WW today.

    2. Cotto did a great job. He actually out boxed Mosley . No one, NO ONE in this forum, or anywhere else for that matter, thought he would be capable of doing that. Also, Mosley is known to have one of the best chins in the game today, where you expecting Cotto to KO him?? What did Cotto do that was dissapointing?

    3. No doubt PBF would be the favorite if he and Cotto were to meat, but how this fight made that more clear still confuses me beyond meassure. Mosley does not fight like Mayweather at all. The only thing that they have in common is that they are both fast and we all know that that was not a major problem for Cotto. So how this fight is an indicator for how a fight with PBF would turn out is just something I don't understand.

    4. Finally, what the hell do you mean this was not a great fiight. Hell it was defenatelly not FOTY but it was still a damn good fight. We've had a lot of great fights this year and some of them have been clearly better than this one, but that don't mean the fight was not great. There was a little of everything with the only exception being a KD. Some fireworks, some boxing, some momentum shifts. The only part I didn't like was maybe the last round but I can't blame them for that, it was a hard fought battle till that moment and they must have been pretty damn tired by them. It was pretty clear that no one was going down that night, that's for sure.

It was a good performance and a smart performance. Cotto is always impressing me. I always wanted him to win but thought he would need a KO to do so, he boxed a great fight.

....I hoped Cotto would win but I honestly thought he was going to get stopped, I had faith, it just wasn't solid faith

He impressed this guy. He keeps finding a way to win, and has what all great fighters have; Heart and determination. Close fight but he deserved the win.

I thought Cotto looked great. He showed more dimensions to his boxing, more speed, more resiliance than in previous fights and more elusiveness when under pressure.

I was amazed that he was consistently beating Shane to the punch, slipping punches and manouveoring himself out of trouble when under pressure.

He fought a superb fight against one of the best fighters in the world.

Cotto vs Mayweather just became the biggest fight in boxing imo.

The only complaint i had was that he backed off a little for the last 3 or 4 rounds.

He impressed me with his boxing ability though.

He did what was necessary to win and thats all you need to do.

Cotto can box, and he's very good at it but when he doesn't respect his opponent he just goes in for the kill and doesn't care about not getting hit....that's what happened with Torres and Corley.

Odd how everyone used to talk about Chop Chop hurting Miguel and now there is nothing
