Did any of you see the Tarver fight the other day? He looked bad, but his mouth after the fight is what really made him look bad.

The other day? He has a fight on saturday. If your talking abot the Muriqui fight, yeh he looked like sh@t.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
Yes I was reffering to the Muriqui fight. I guess it was a repeat that I saw recently. Tarvers mouth is his worst enemy. it makes him very hard to like. That's a shame because he has talent.
I have never once read a positive Tarver comment.Originally Posted by Couldabeen
Tarver is pants.
He was scared to fight Danny Green. And frankly if I looked as bad against a 41yr old Hopkins as he did, I'd be scared as well.
Tarver is avoiding anyone with a pulse.

Tarver is 39 now and judging by his recent fights he wont be a major force in the division much longer

He isn't a major force in the division now!Originally Posted by BoomBoom
IMO he wasn't even a force to begin with
Just he caught RJJ at the end of his career with a punch nobody expected don't mean diddly squat to me
This fight is absolutely pointless, Tarver's not doing a very good job of staying relevant.
There was a Tarver fan on the boards a while ago. Trying to think of his exact name, think it was like FlH20 or something like that. An actual living breathing Tarver fan.Originally Posted by bzkfn

If Tarver didn't say a word he would have been a bigger star then he is now. One of the reasons Tarver is near "bolivion" is because he talks so much. If he was just respectful like "It's so great to have the opportunity to fight Roy Jones Jr. I can only hope that we both come out of it ok and may the best man win" And he went to have 3 fights with Roy in which he won 2 then he would have been more welcomed by the fans. Doesn't he understand that humble can sell tickets too as long as they deliver? Tarver talks like he has talent and power that he doesn't. If he was respectable and wasn't always complaining all the time then he may be somewhere. If Tarver was quiet I guarantee you he would have been a bigger star.
Then again I agree with the majority that say if Roy had retired after the first tarver fight neither of their careers would have been hurt.
In a perfect world Roy retires after answering all the questions people had about him in his career in the first Tarver fight and Tarver and Glen Johnson would fight for that spot keeping the division unified.
And Hopkins retires after getting his draw with Jermain Taylor in the first fight, and Taylor Pavlik and Miranda and a few others all had a Middleweight tournament to see who would warn those belts.
But sadly this isn't a perfect world
The Light Heavyweight division is almost as screwed up as the heavyweights now in terms of the belts and people up there
And Jermain Taylor is gonna fight Pavlik again in a battle not for the belts and they are both on the move up possibly about to leave the middleweight division in the same place.
Tarver does have some skills but his stamina and power are waning. IMO he's wasting valuable time with this fight. He should have fought Glen Johnson in a rubber match. Chad Dawson wants to fight him too. Throw RJJ in the mix and you gotta wonder why arent these guys fighting each other? Clinton Woods, B-Hop, why are all these crap fights getting made? Light Heavy has the most ducking of any division IMO.

The question begs to be answered why a champion in Dawson called Tarver out and yet he's strangely mum on why the fight isn't happening.
