CC back Lyle. It's strange because I never knew there were problems like this until the Rodney King trial and fiasco. I was raised in an all white upper middle class city and I don't think I ever heard the term n#gger until the riots. We had 2 black people in our school from the time I moved to that city in 1980 until I was a sophomore in high school when some more Black families moved in. We loved them and in a way were very protective of them as we weren't so stupid as to not see the difference; but I swear they were just 2 more kids we hung out with and as far as I know there was never a race issue in all those years growing up. When the riots happened I was like: whoooaaahhh!! What is going on? Very naive and when I got out on my own I bought my 1st house in an almost completely Hispanic and Black neighborhood, which really opened my eyes in certain aspects, as far as how I was viewed and really how I viewed the world and recognized the problems. It was crazy and I won't bore peolple with any more of my life story, but I just treated people how I always had. Some embraced me, others didn't. Now everything you see is race related and it's just mind boggling really. We as a nation need to come together because in case some of you haven't noticed, there are certain countries that want to see our demise because we aren't under their religious beliefs. While we're fighting each other, they sit back and laugh cause' we make are making their job easier. Enough soapbox. I had told myself not to get involved in this thread when I saw it, and did anyways.
