I presume he's letting his body settle down after he packed on so much body mass to fight Hopkins.

I certainly hope he goes back to light Middle or Middle. The higher weights don't suit him physically or stylistically.

I asked him this very question 2 days ago and he said his camp were trying to get Calzaghe!!
Bad idea though because it would mean Winky floating around the 168-175 mark again.

I doubt JC would fight him now after he lost to Bhop. I think he should get back to light middle and fight Vernon Forrest. That would be intresting...

True statement. Dan Birmingham told the BBC as much.

Once more, I feel 154 is his weight. At that he's not particularily strong, but he can pull it off.
Upwards at SM he just doesn't have the speed to compensate for his lack of Power.

I'd say it's a 20% chance he'll ink a deal with Calzaghe and if it happens it's definitely in Cardiff. Winky has little to no pull now, he's older, unproven at the higher weight, isn't known for knocking guys out and just lost to a fighter everyone is convinced is an inch away from retirement. IF Calzaghe fights him and that's a big IF it will be for his name alone and Wink loses handily. His peek-a-boo style is good for defending against heavy hitters who'll drain themselves trying to get to him. Joe will be throwing from all angles, especially after Hopkins showed how to get around his guard. Joe is too active for Winky's style to be effective. And, like I said before, his initials are JC for a reason.

Have to agree that I would rather Winky fight a light middle or middle he didnt look anywhere near his usual self fighting BHop. His movement was nowhere near what it usually is at middle.

Haha, I finally found something we disagree on! 160 is his best weight. His peek a boo style could work against Pavlik. I'd love to see that fight.

Yeah maybe. Pavlik would havea big adavantage in terms of height tho and even if he landed on the gloves it would still have reprecussions. Winky does have a great chin tho so as i debate it in my head i definitely see where your coming from.

A fight with Pavlik would be terrible. Taylor was able to blast through his guard, Pavlik will do the same and more. And Pavlik doesn't have Taylor's problem of retreating to the ropes once he stops punching. He'll go toe to toe with Wright. I don't know who would win, necessarily, though. Depends on how good Wright's chin is.

Winky is never goin back down to 154, I can see that. I wouldn't want him to anyway, not that I care much, cus he sucks and bores the hell outta me. But he should think about fightin the Pavlik vs. Taylor winner or just Taylor regardless and retirin. He's had a great career spoiling exciting fighters and boring us all to death the bastard.
