O.K so Ali is far 'Greater' than Bowe in everyway.....but........The Bowe that fought Holyfield(1st fight) would definitely have given Ali a helluva fight!!

Bowe was a good heavyweight but not great he gets alot of credit for the Bowe vs Holyfield Trilogy take that away and he did'nt do a great deal if you get me.

Agreed, but on his very best night (i.e versus Holyfield) he would've been a match for anyone in history imo. Same as Douglas on the night he fought Tyson.

Prime for Prime Ali beats him.

Bowe never faced anyone of the caliber of Ali.
But Ali however did fight a couple of fighters that would be cosidered better and greater then Bowe. Even some that are along the lines of Bowe.
I hate when people say well if the _______ (fighters name) that fought ________ (fighters name) were to fight he would.....

I mean you gotta rate them overall. In that case I can dig out Alis best performance and say well if the Ali that fought _______ were to fight then Bowe would have ZERO chance.....

In an overall comparison, well there is no comparison. Bowe showed heart and skill on a trilogy and not so much as he did in the 1st fight. But that's about it, in the other hand Ali proved year after year after year that he could hang in there with the best around even well past his best days.

It's just that simple for me.

Bowes cheesy imitation was closer to realization than Bowe actually beating a prime Ali.
Remember in Holyfield war ,1st fight Holyfield put on a clinic in the very 1st round.Great sharp boxing and all of the sudden in round two his Ego and pride took over ,He planted his feet,squared up and began to slug it out like a bomber.Great guts but very bad tactical mistake.From that point for the most part he was reacting and had to swing for ko late.Bowe was a very good inside fighter and Holyfield was there for upper's all night.
I think a prime Ali would stick and move Bowe ,have him off balance and reaching and his hand speed and guile would be to much for Bowe..Imo.
