    Nice fights

Navarro's just not quite good enough to beat Mijares, should be fairly competitive but clear win for Mijares

I'll go ahead and take Castillo, Montiel's looked a bit shaky lately IMO. Then again I haven't seen Castillo since the Nobuo fight so I'm not totally confident in that pick.

Navarro seems an agonising step below world class to me and Mijares is world class.Anyone seen Mijares draw with Maldonado?

I favour Martin Castillo over Montiel too, based on better fundamentals imo.I think he can counter his way to a points win,as Montiel can be a bit wild. It'll be close though, especially as I think Castillo has lost a step since coming back from the surgery on his eyes, which seem to open up frequently A Montiel TKO on cuts is not out of the question,he packs alot of power.

Mijares will go down as one of Mexicos finest fighters along side 'Finito' Lopez, Canto & Roman.

Wow,that's ALOT of confidence. I can't really say much about him other than he has looked hugely impressive in the 3 fights I have of his(2 with Kwashima(sp?) and Arce)

Christian Mijares is an amazing fighter i can't see anyone beating him at Super Flyweight, in fact im going to make a prediction and say Mijares will make at least 20 title defenses until he is beaten.

If you dig back through the posts leading up to the fight vs. Arce I somewhat figuered he'd win. I had seen him before and I just wasn't feeling it. Mijares did what I though he would which was outbox Arce.
The type of skills he's displayed are really great. He has a snappy jab, good footwork and lateral movement to go with it.

Mijares is the shit, really like watching him fight

A tip for Navarro, if he knocks you down, don't touch gloves with him once you get up.

He's funny I'll give him that. I enjoyed his cameo as that woman wrestler's husband on My Name is Earl.

Both of you are crazy.... There is no way he'll make that many defenses.
I think he'll only make about 8 total then he'll move up in weight to capture his 2 division title.
I read that he will unify the division against Kirilov if all goes well against Navarro. Kirilovs skilled man but I'd favor Mijares.

Have you been smoking something Ice? He's already been beaten 3 times and got a draw against Maldonado a year ago.

All he did was outbox Jorge Arce which let's be fair isn't the hardest thing in the world to do. I'll make my own prediction that he loses the title before the end of 2008.

He'll beat both Navarro & Kirilov this year he'll then fight a third time in 2008 maiking that defense #6 I think then 2 more fights early 2009 then he'll move up in weight.
The fact that you are talking about the guys loses from 1998 & 2001/2 is funny. Have you seen the Maldonado fight? Moldonado fought one of his best fights. I'm sure your speaking by what you have seen of Maldonado vs. Nonito & Vic right?
Mijares should have been more busy that night vs. Maldonado but he wasn't he learned from that. Hes coming to an age man and the guys as skilled as they come. You'll eat your words Bilbs, then again it wont be the 1st or the last....
