Its the way it snaps your head back, all parts of the back are tightly wound to the next part, the muscles in your back are all pretty tightly woven

Yeah, the only logical thing would be the neck affecting the rest of the back

Mosleys legs are pretty wide, which means his groin and lower back are taking a lot of strain implementing movement. The two muscle groups compliment one another, weak groin bad lower back.

Would you say that the wide stance used by Mosely (and many amateurs) is a good stance for countering against a slower opponent but not a good idea when one intends to be active throughout the fight and rely on quick footwork?Originally Posted by Scrap

A wide stance makes it harder to cut off the ring without working twice as hardOriginally Posted by hitmandonny

		Thats what I thought!
I knew that it was quite helpful in terms of slipping and you can get lower when bobbing, in fact it's quite good for countering, but as regards movement and leverage is it not a big disadvantage.
Luis Collazo is a fighter I gained a large amount of respect for during the Hattonn fight, but upon rewatching the HATTON FIGHT AND WATCHING THE rIVIERA AND mOSELY FIGHTS, iTHOUGHT THAT EXACT THING, HE'S A GOOD MOVER, BUT WHEN HE WANTS TO HE EITHER HAS TO PUT IN TWICE THE EFFORT (THEREFORE ENERGY) OR CHANGE STANCE ALTOGETHER, WHICH DISALLOWS HIM ANY OFFENCE ON THE MOVE.

Whats known as a cat stance allows you to cut off the ring with barely even lifting your feet
You can just shuffle to where you think he's going
A wide stance means you have to practically run to the point, and once you get there you have to reset again to have any power
Itll work when your young enough to pull it off,but nobody stays young forever.Better to learn good habits young rather then have to unlearn everything later

Re: A Good Stiff Jab Effects The Back ??
More than DLH's jab, what affected Moseley's back that night was coming into the ring warm and then sitting through a showing of Oscar's music video plus his never-ending ring entrance. George says lots of stuff just to hear his own voice.
A wide stance does not help you slip, counter, or duck punches. In fact, it makes it almost impossible to do anything effectively. What does help is proper weight transference and balance.

Joes right, what I said before is true a lot of sprinters have the same problem reaching with the legs too far apart. They are now changing there technique shorter stride faster lift.
