Default Anyone seen much of Dimitriy Salita?

I know he has a decent following, and he is in a film about his boxing and traditional Jewish beliefs, which is being shown at the Jewish Film Festival soon, but is any good? Here's an interesting read about him:

Hes ok but its only a matter of time before he loses imo. He a solid fighter with good fundimentals but he can be a little lackluster at times and when he steps up the competition and fights top dogs he will struggle imo. Doesnt help that he fights in a tough division also. Many people havent seen him because he wont fight on Fridays cause of the Jewish sabbath so hes rarely televised.

This kid had soooo much hype around 2003/2004 he was labeled the next big thing in the Welter div. was showcased on networks put on the undercards but didn't take off like it was said to.

I was big on him as I bought the hype back then but slowly he dissappeared from the talks and honestly haven't seen much of him. I've only seen one of his last fights. I saw some improvements and adjustments he's made. Oddly enough the only image I have of his in my head is when he fought Rocky in one of PBFs fights....

I like him .. Good guy, read alot more about and heard more then ive seen..

Seen alot of highlights but only seen a couple of his fights through..

Hes pretty orthadox guy , ok power.. Just like alot of prospects before..

Hasnt really shone atall because theres really noone on his record to have tested him so all his fights were all really only going one way for a guy with his talent..

There was talk of him fighting good guys, like Frankie Figueroa but the fights never seem to come off so he goes off and fights for a minor title against no named fighters..

I dunno.. I couldnt tell you if hes the real deal or not..

He hasnt proved it or anythingg.. And i want to say nerr hes not..
But hes surrounded by great guys training wise and the guys they got are the shit and theyr going round really plugging salita saying this guy is the shit and i find it hard not to believe em.. Wait and see thing i thinkk..

Hopefully he'll fight for a world title this year..

Gets hit cleanly easily. Doesn't have pop.
Has above average defensive skills that happen in moments.

MY vivid memory of him is getting hit as his head bobs backwards quickly, about 2 years ago or more.

Maybe he's grown from then, but CutMeMick is right, I remember hearing much hype about him, because he was the only Jewish kid who could box pretty good. Now I hear NOTHING about him, but only a film that's only really about his Jewish side... which is fair and good for the Jewish Community. If I get a chance to watch it, I will.

I seen him live in Phoenix on the Margarito undercard, but he really doesn't have enough strength or power to get that respect in the ropes.

Whats crazy is 60 or 70 years ago they wouldnt be making a movie about a Jewish boxer because there were tons of them and many were world champions. Now there arent many at all.
